    Don't know what could be the problem, If it was the battery, it wouldn't recover after a minute of charge, or can failing batteries be intermitant? if so, why did the garage say battery was fine, they put a load on it and checked the alternator. Would appreciate any suggestions, really struggling to think of what it would be.

  Assuming the new battery is not defective, then it seems logical that there is an electrical fault somewhere. It's odd that the length of time between charging the battery and finding it dead seems to vary, sometime it's a week sometimes the next day.

  It does not matter if the size of the batteriy is larger then original as long as it fits and is 12V, right?

  i recently had to charge the battery up on my motor cause swmbo left the side lights on all night , whilst on charge i decided to clean it up and top up the electrolyte , whilst doing so it revealed the manufacture date on the casing 1990 , and i thought they only lasted 3 or 4 years can any one beat that?

  I left the CD player on last night and got a flat battery as a result this morning. After a quick jump start from the RAC the CD/radio will not function - basically looks like it's turned off without anyway of turning it on. Is there a way to kick the CD/radio into life?

  I have a Varta B18 "Blue Dynamic" calcium/silver battery on my car. Given the recent hot weather, I am concerned as to the fluid level in the cells but seem unable to remove the cover to check. Can anyone please advise if the cover is supposed to lift off or if this is some kind of "sealed for life " item?

  Hi, Peugeot 307 TDI 1997 just fitted new battery, car starts fine but alarm keeps going off. Key remote control broken can only lock and unlock manually by key. Any suggestions how to stop alarm going off .

  We keep an old Renault 19 (95) for occasional use. We have put in a new battery some weeks ago butv it still looses its charge within 24 hours. I have checked for bootlight/glovebox light etc but to no avail. Any ideas?Thanks

    We have a problem whereby if the car is left for a week or more without using it then the battery is flat when we go to use it again.  We've replaced the stereo (as we'd previously read it could be a problem with that) and also had a new battery and alternator fitted.  The mechanic couldn't find anything wrong.

  Good evening, I fitted a new battery and alternator to my son's Land Rover 90 a couple of weeks ago. All seemed fine, 12.6v with no ignition on, 14.4v with the engine running. Fine since then until this morning when it wouldn't start due to a low battery.

  i have now had a replacment alternator put in the car and battery light is still showing on dashboard.it seems to be when i turn engine on and cold outside the front and rear demisters come on for a couple of minutes then battery light comes on and front demister goes off and will not work.the only way i can stop this is when i turn engine on and turn off demisters right away and that seems to solve the problem.

  Hi, I have just bought a 2nd hand Micra (2  days ago) I went to use it this morning (for the 1st time) and can't unlock it - I am certain the battery is flat as the I discovered that the boot was not locked properly !  I can't see any way of manually sing the key to unlock the door, so I can't even get the battery recharged !  I hope someone can give me advice Please !

  Excuse me, if this seems an obvious fix, but i've not come across it before. My '98 Escort SI 1.8 has been off the road for a few months, the battery was dead, so i gave it a full charge. On putting the battery back on the car this morning, the hazards kept flashing and the horn sounding. How do you reset the alarm on the car? Once i got the car running, the horn did stop sounding after a few seconds, but the hazards continued flashing...

  Hello - am a girl - so go easy on me ok! I have an M Reg, Suzuki Vitara Soft Top which I am looking to sell - however it needs a new battery and I keep getting asked what type and what make? And I dont know (have paperwork stashed someplace I cant get to it at moment). Really want to get a new battery and get her ready to sell - any advice would be more than welcome!

  You can touch with your fingers both terminals on a car battery - no shock When is a car battery dangerous? As there is the potential for 400 - 500 amps how come it does not shock when you touch both. My own explanation ios that the volts (12 - 14) is not high enough.

  Hello, Could somebody please advise me on a couple of problems I have with my omega. Firstly i have a battery drain, what happens is if i leave the car for a couple of days i need to jump it using a jump pack. I have checked that their is no lights staying on.   So my battery ran flat after my wife left the charger on, not the first time it's ahppened and I usually pop the battery out, give it a quick charge and all is well until she does it again. However this time I did it in the dark and connected the battery the wrong way around - there were sparks, the indicators flicked on briefly and the car horn sounded.
