Racing legend Tom Kristensen to appear at Race Retro 17 Jan 2017 (News)
One of the stars of Audi’s near-monopoly of La Sarthe, he helped revolutionise endurance racing with the advent of diesel and hybrid technology in sports cars. He also raced for Porsche, Bentley and BMW in France. As well as his wins at Le Mans, Kristensen also has six victories at Sebring, one at Petit Le Mans, and won the FIA World Championship (WEC), making him the most successful sports car driver of his era. -
Ex-George Best Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow for sale 27 Sep 2016 (News)
No stranger to publicity, Best and his new acquisition were photographed by the Daily Mirror in the showrooms of Ian Anthony Car Sales on 4 December, 1972. The car has sported various registration numbers over the past 44 years but on that occasion wore plates advertising the Now repainted since belonging to Best, the luxury saloon has also gained a black vinyl roof covering and later-style integral reversing lamps. -
New club for Rover 800 fans 16 Sep 2015 (News)

Pre-war cars do battle on tough Flying Scotsman rally 23 Apr 2015 (News)
The sun shone down on this year’s Flying Scotsman Rally as the 110-strong field of pre-war cars battled it out over 750 miles from Leeds to Scotland’s Gleneagles in three days. It was William Medcalf, last year’s winner, with navigator Tony Brooks in the 1925 Bentley Super Sports that raised the winner’s cup at the finish line of what has been called the toughest short pre-war rally in the world. -

Unique 1000 Mile Trial archive unearthed 28 Nov 2014 (News)
A photo album documenting the 1000 Mile Trial of 1900 – a landmark moment in motoring history – has been acquired by the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. The event saw vintage motor cars driving from London to Edinburgh and back and was captured by the event’s official photographer, Albert Argent Archer. It was a one-off event that helped to change people’s negative preconceptions about motor cars at the turn of the century. -
Coventry to stage legal road race in 2015 27 Oct 2014 (News)
It will, subject to Motosport Industry Association (MIA) approval, see the Coventry ring road play host to British Formula 3 cars, vehicles from the British Touring Car championship and Porsche Carrera Cup series cars, amongst others. Each of the classifications will participate in time trial laps around the city’s ring road with various trophies and prizes for winners of each of the different competing series. -

In an acknowledgement that the classic car market is worth billions to the UK economy, but its skills base is ageing, the government is backing the efforts of TIGOSE in encouraging young talent into the business. Apprenticeships are designed to provide young people with a solid educational background, and The Guild's bespoke Apprenticeship Programme, is pioneering this in the classic car industry. -

HRDC 'Touring Greats' is a dedicated series for pre-1960 historic touring cars running to HRDC/Goodwood regulations. Cars range from the diminutive BMW 700CS and Austin A35/A40s, through MG Magnettes, Standard Vanguards, Volvo PV544/Amazons and Sunbeam Rapiers, to bellowing Jaguar Mk1s, Mk7s and rapid Austin A95/105s. -
