  taking the fuel pump off on my 1.9D, the problem is im struggling to take the crankshaft cover off, the haynes manual is not to helpful on this matter, i can get to the camshaft sprocket tho, can i rotate that instead or is it far too risky?

  When driving at light throttle the pedal vibrates (that is moves up and down) of it's own accord. it is not loose in any way and there has been no change in fuel consumption or performance but clearly something isn't right. Can anyone help please? Cheers,Ben

  Anyone purchased/fitted a Fuel Angel (as advertised on Dragons Den by entrepreneur who got £500,000 he wanted then changed his mind)? Costs £29.95 plus £5 p&p, direct from manufacturer. They say easy to fit, effective etc. Any first hand experiences here?

  Firstly, why do manufacturers always quote fuel economy figures for Urban & Extra-urban? Can they just not say "Town" and "Motorway" instead? What does "Combined" mean? 50% town + 50% motorway? Secondly, at what speed these figures are measured?

  hi im getting an engine management light now and a then but the car runs fine just uses more fuel when the light is on and then it will go off a few days later and its back to normal. my question is does anyone know where the diagnostic socket is?. cheers tam.

  Also I have never had a satisfactory andwer to why Derv is so much more expensive when it is a cruder fuel and needs less refining. Surely it should be cheaper?

  I tried to get an answer to this question in a previous thread but have had no replies yet. Basically, someone suggested that new PSA HDIs don't use the fuel additive (EOLYS) any longer. Is this the case and if not, why not? Also are all of the current PSA HDI engines fitted with a particle filter that needs replacing at specified intervals?

  Whatcar have carried out a study (read it at whatcar.co.uk) on Superfuels which concludes many of them do nothing in terms of mpg and acceleration times. Looking at the results for a 1.6 Focus, Total and Esso 97 octane fuels come out above Shell V power for improvements in acceleration....which is what I found when I switched from shell to total... Worth a look anyway....

  I have had intermittent starting problems over the last two months. It cranks over fine but wont start. Traced to No spark, No "LT" feed to fuel pump relay. My guess is crank senser? Unless any one out there knows better ???? Orack

  I have a ford focus 1600 ghia auto year 2000 it has recently been showing empty after filling up with fuel I have looked at the dash fault codes it is showing 9202. Does anyone know what the code refures to and how I can find out a list of all codes.

  Hi, we have a "M" reg Ford Escort with the flattened stick type key and the locks have all decided to lock but not unlock. The fuel cap and ignition still works and that is all. I have used WD40 and 3in1 but to no avail. Other than doing a Mr Bean with a hasp i have no idea other than removing the locks Any ideas Ta

  just wanted some quick advice.Is it worthwhile to regularly use miller's diesel power plus with every fuel tankful fill. Does it have the potential to cause damage to the engine.Where is the best place to buy it from. my current cars are 2001 BMW 530DA 2005 SAAB 9-3 TiD 150bhp manual many thanks

  My car manual states that the engine can run on up to 10% ethanol, or 5% methanol. Does anybody know where this sort of fuel is available in the UK (particularly the E10 ethanol mix)? I read somewhere that Tesco sells this, but their website doesn't say where. Has anyone seen it on sale around Berkshire / Surrey? Many thanks David

  Can anyone please confirm, from actual,personal,hands on experience, if the Uno Turbo lump will fit into a Panda ( not the new one ) engine bay ? Not worried about the fuel/electrics side of things, just if the lump will fit, will the driveshafts pick up and will the bonnet close? Someone must have tried this at some time. Thank you, Pete.

  i dont know if there has been discussions on the fuel economy of biodiesel but i was was wondering if anyone had any figures? my car currently get on average 42-45 mpg. would this change much with biodeisel? also is there any modifications to the car atall?
