  I was looking up the fuel efficiency for older diesel cars for city driving and on a site selling old LTI fairway taxis I came up with a figure of 25 - 30mpg in town for a 2.7 litre diesel. Now I don't know if this means stop and start traffic driving or driving at 30 MPH, but this is roughly the same as I get from my old Golf, which is a 1.3 litre petrol.

  Hi Any diesel speacialists??? Got problems starting after being left overnight.Changed glow plugs and checked glow plug relay,no improvement.Now found that fuel is running back from fuel filter housing and once i manually prime the fuel system(using priming bulb)she starts instantly and is fine all day.Checked all connections for air leaks and can only see a small diesel leak and slight hissing on top of the bosch diesel pump by throttle arm.
