  ve read the press right, the prices of some cars are falling like a stone? Maybe larger petrol cars for example. If owners of these cars have purchased them on PCP?s 12-18 months ago when things were looking rosy, when the PCP ends and the dealer has to honour the future guaranteed value, what will this mean for us all? Are some car finance houses going to be stung?

  while driving my astra last weekend i came up a slip road and at the top it stopped and now will not start at all. i had a fault read 2yrs ago and it`s code came up as PO400 critical system malfunction2. could this be anything to do with it. also what does this code mean

  Hi i was wondering if anybody here could help me. I have a 1998 S plate 1.4 Megane. When the engine is off or the engine is on i cannot get it into first gear. Second gear is hard to achieve but it is possible. ALso whilst the engine is running there is a very violent vibrating around the whole car.

  Even better if these buses can be chassis-built and refurbished ad infinitum at somewhere like Aldenham works. Almost makes me want to move back to London. P.s. I'm a former bus spotter from the early 1970's.

  hi room , i recently developed a very loud whining noise in the car , seems to be road speed related , ive jacked up the car and i cant say there is any play in the wheel bearings, tight as drum/s in fact ....could it be a drive shaft letting go...any ideas appreciated...thanks zoo

  this is my first go on this forum so apologies if I'm covering old ground. why don't we surface our motorways with concrete instead of tarmac,surely it,s more durable? I've just seen a programme on the box showing the construction of a freeway in Chicago where they used concrete for it's durability surely this must be better than relaying tarmac every few years?

  my sons 51 reg 1.4 3 door polo,s central locking won,t work from the drivers side if he holds the key in the lock position all that happens is the windows roll down. he is able to lock & unlock from the passenger side. thanks in anticipation of any help.

  hi, my volvo s60 information display goes wrong after a few minutes, you get funny characters or none at all. Switch off the ignition leave for a few minutes and its fine. Anybody know the cause (s/w or temp related H/W??) of the likely cost of a repair. thanks in advance.

  I want to change the rear discs on my 406 HDi 110 S Estate (2003). I've heard that the handbrake is a different entity to the normal brakes. My question is: is it a straight forward job or can I expect surprises, ie. special tool required or anything else like that.

  It used to be the case that if you took your car in for an MOT a month early and you took the old MOT with you, the testing station could issue you with potentally 13 months of MOT. Is this still the case with computerised MOT`s. Also would the same apply for a car which is 35 months old taken for an MOT. Would it also get 13 months MOT?

  I have tried starting it with a floppy but it will not respond. I am using Mandrake Move to post this message which indicates me a Window s problem. Pressing F8 on start up does not work either. I have some files I would like to save. Any advice gratefully received

  Do I need to lubricate anything to make the electric windows go up and down easier? They are sluggish at certain spots, and the n/s/f creaks when partly wound down. I'd rather not take the doors apart if at all possible! I notice that pulling up on the windows by hand when closing them helps them a bit! If they need something, what, & where to get it?
