  Can anyone out there suggest a good mid-size estate car for between £10,000 and £15,000 that i will get decent MPG from? It's mostly for B road and city driving. It needs to be a good size boot for my partner's mobility scooter.

  Does anyone know if a pre-selector counts as an auto  for licence purposes? my wife has an auto only licence   and would like me to get an real oldie that she can drive.  Post 1960 or so there are quite a few, mainly Rovers, but pre-1960, not many.

  I have recently experienced a heavy clutch pedal and difficulty in obtaining 1st gear. This does pass and when driving the clutch can get heavy again. The slave and master cylinder was replaced approximately 4000 miles ago. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

  VW continue with the transverse format whilst Audi prefer N/S.  But are the benefits of equal length drive shafts overplayed ? And does North South make changing cambelts more complex. And alter the balance of the car? Grateful your views?

  I drive a Toyota Avensis 2013 Model. Recently it starts to overheat in traffic when the air-conditioner (A/C) is on. It goes back to normal when the A/C is put off. This only happens in the afternoon. Please, what are the possible causes?

  Over the past week I have seen 2 instances of totally irresponsible and illegal activity on the road past the end of our street. Friday a local authority senior citizens bus went past. One passenger on it and the drive happily texting away. Today a Zafira on the school run, driver and 6 kids in it, none wearing belts.

  I fancy buying 4 new tyres for my Audi A3. Is it OK to buy budget tyres? I don't do significant mileage, motorway driving , neither am I a "boy racer".... Just want something safe that will last 20000 miles.

  I noticed that there was a member complaining about the steering on a Fiesta. This Autumn I had a new loan Fiesta Style 4door 1.25 manual. On all corners it was like driving round a threepenny bit. Constantly adjusting the steering. Could this be the start of a new problem?

  Why do most manufacturers make a large rear windscreen on the vehicles and then spend money blacking out large areas on the inside, making the vehicle clausrtophobic?. It is like the fad for hatching off large ares of road so that you do not drive on it, why build it in the first place? Safety run offs excluded.

  Hi I have a Ford Mondeo Ghia 2002, the car was driving for about 15mins and then starts to loose power and cut out, I took it to a mechanic and the tested it and changed the fuel pump. Took it away and about after the same time started to loose power and cut out!

  Was driving from the A3 along Bushey rd (A298) and up to Morden, where there is  a cycle path alongside the road for a good stretch, and a "gentleman" on a bike with very small wheels was wobbling along in lane 1 of the road when he would have been a lot safer in the sperated cycle lane.

  my  2009 bmw 320d  starts ,runs ,drives fine but occasionally a shudder seems to start at the back then slowly goes !  iv been told could be a bush ! but this seems very unlikely  i wondered if could be the traction control acting up ?

  Bio have a 53 plate Vectra cdi,it seems to feel as if it is running on three cylinders and have a surer will driving along but seems to clear when you put the foot down,there is no fault codes when plugged in and the chap that plugged in in said it has something to do with the inlet manifold is he right?

  Hi,i was driving my pug 306,1.6 petrol when suddenly car just lost power i had no lights,no c/locking.I have replaced battery,earth straps now i have lights c/locking the engine will crank but wont start.would grateful for any advice.

  Hi, I have a 2007 BMW 3 series coupe 2000i with 27,00 miles. The auto box is giving a clunk or judder when in stationery and in drive waiting at lights etc. Stationery, not moving forward. Any ideas please.

  after my battery went flat while driving i replaced both the altenator and battery .. the charging light on the dash has blown and i am informed that the altenator wont work  if this is blown . is this correct or could there be another cause.
