  • Toyota Announces Prices of New Camry 6 Nov 2001 (News)

  • Used Values Up Again at Auction 7 Mar 2009 (News)
    The latest BCA Pulse report for February 2009 shows that average used car values have risen for the fourth month running. February 2009 posted a £435 rise against January (up 8.4%), which was itself £300 up on December’s figures. Performance against CAP continues to improve, increasing by over six points to 103.61% - the highest monthly figure on record for all-sector values since Pulse began reporting.

    Bought as a project from a Jaguar Spares Day in 2012, it is now part-restored to chassis level and running and driving, with chassis and suspension stove enamelled, new prop shaft and rebuilt gearbox. The project comes with body panels (not attached), and a re-trimmed interior trim. Expect it to fetch £24,000-£25,500.

    .  With so many cars on the road, many of which were pre-WWII motors bought cheap, and run on a shoestring, safety standards were pretty poor. In fact, they were shocking. Road deaths were climbing alarmingly, and the government needed to do something quickly. The end result was a new MoT test, which was originally designed to run for all cars more than two years old, on annual basis, with the first test taking place on the car's 10th birthday, and every year after that.

    The Project 7 is based on the F-Type , but is more focused as a driver's car, featuring a raft of visual changes to emphasise the car's link with its maker's competition history, is is so-called because Jaguar won Le Mans seven times. The rumour mill in the run-up to the Festival of Speed had run into overdrive, speculating that the coupe version of the F-Type would make its debut, but instead, a fascinating performance concept will roar up the hill instead.
  • New RenaultSport Clio to go Racing 16 Oct 2012 (News)
    Renault UK has confirmed its intention to run a race series for the new 5-door Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo with EDC dual clutch transmission in the 2014 season. As the current UK championship concludes at Brands Hatch on 20 th /21 st October, work is underway behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition to the brand new 100PS 1.6 turbo-powered car which will debut in Europe next year.  During initial testing, so far amounting to 3,500 kilometres at a variety of French circuits, lap times have been roughly one second per lap quicker than the existing normally-aspirated 2.0-litre Clio Cup car.  Featuring a 1.6-litre turbo-powered engine tuned by Oreca Magny-Cours and sealed at source, developing 220hp and 270Nm of torque, the new Clio Cup racer has a six-speed sequential gearbox (not the standard EDC) with an AP Racing clutch and limited slip differential.

  • Glass's Appeals For Scrappage Scheme to Continue 4 Aug 2009 (News)
    Glass’s is calling on the Government to extend its Scrappage Scheme (that has already resulted in 144,000 new car orders) at least until next summer in order to avoid a very significant fall in new car sales and a consequent collapse in revenues for car manufacturers and retailers. With Scrappage Scheme registrations currently running at around 13,500 per week, it is estimated that the Government’s allotted funding could run out as early as October 2009, well in advance of the very earliest forecasted rise in consumer confidence.

  • Frederic Bennett Nash in Barons Classic Auction 27 Feb 2009 (News)
    The car was originally owned by Frederic S Bennett, the Englishman famed for reversing the fortunes of Cadillac 100 years ago by winning the Dewar Trophy in 1908, and for completing the Bennett Run in 1903 and 1953. Bennett acquired the Nash new in 1930, and owned it for 26 years. Believed to be the only remaining example, it is quite outstanding, having undergone a comprehensive, nut and bolt restoration over many years, including a new, hand-built, American ash frame.
