  • any - Older cars, values, classics, useable? 7 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Many of my fortunately rare model have been 'barried' or other wise interfered bodily with, many more neglected and driven excessive miles, those surviving would cost far more than £5k (peanuts when you start dismantling a MB) to get back into the far from contours condition of mine. Course it's all academic cos i don't intend to sell it and if i did the LPG conversion (unless removed) would knock it's classic value, and there's every possibility my son will keep it going if it's still here when i kick the bucket.   I don't think there's real money to be made in older or classic cars unless you've got Mystic Meg's crytal ball, and buy the right ones at the right time when a fashion fad takes hold, examples being early RWD Escorts and VW campers.

They don't need speeding up, especially as they spend half their time stationary at bus stops anyway. 3. Use tax incentives to persuade bus operators to switch to LPG or biodiesel. Other public transport: 1. Encourage tram and light rail initiatives where they make commercial sense. Make it as easy as possible for private operators to build and operate these systems.
  • Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Dad-to-be swapping small van for a LAV - which one 20 Mar 2017 (Forum)
Despite driving diesels for a long time, I've become quite turned off modern common rail diesels as I feel they're less reliable with expensive consumables - DPF, DMF and the fragile injection system. I also am keen on converting the next vehicle to dual fuel (to petrol & LPG/propane) to save on running costs & improve emissions. However the van based LAVs tend to have weedy petrols and powerful diesels and I like me some speedy cars! Initally I was looking at the 1st gen Citroen Berlingo , but finding the cheapness of the 2nd gen Berlingo at auctions, I've become tempted, and I've found about the 2nd gen Kangoo and 2nd gen Doblo which tend to get better reviews than the 2nd gen Berlingo.

However the city's smog problem has been significantly reduced following the recent mandate for all the taxis to run on LPG. Furthermore we had to grapple with an awesome exchange rate of 1,725,000 Turkish lira to the Euro. A full tank of diesel was 100 million lira. That sounds like a lot of money. I have never signed a credit card slip showing 100 million of any currency before.
