  In fairness the warning came within the first 5 miles. Upon getting to the office i discovered the coolant tank was empty. Thus, filled it and later in the day completed the return jouney. This time however the warning was presented with 1 mile. Completed the journey home and again no collant. Discovered the coolant extended tank was leaking and now replaced this.

    The whole unit, including temperature sensor, thermostat and housing was fitted.  As per the manual, the coolant was topped up with the temperature sensor and expanion tank cap removed, the engine running and the heater set at full.  Whilst adding the coolant a lot of air bubbles were surfacing.  After well over half an hour, these appear to have subsided, hence I presumed that any air in the system had been expelled.

  The problem is that I can't see where the drip's are coming from. When running at speed she's going through coolant at some speed, but from where? It's not the rad because it's too far back. The coolant's coming out very very clean, no oil, no rust or debris etc. Do you think it could be the bottom hose, or maybe the water pump?

  When I took the matter up with the inspection company they would not say why the vendor had not been informed about the tyre problem, but tried to say there was a coolant leak that also prevented the vehicle being road tested. This was total rubbish as the coolant level was checked as ok and in the final check coolant leaks were ticked as satisfactory. The examiner had noted however that one heater hose showed "signs" of coolant leakage.

  Blowers on speed 1, temp control on full hot. 3 mins: later doing 30mph (no traffic), and very slight warm air. 5 mins: approach motorway (slight warm air), blower on speed 2. 7 mins: good run on motorway, coolant temp approaching 80 degreees C. Internal heat getting warm. 10 mins: still on motorway, coolant rises to 94 degrees celsius, and then drops back to 82 degrees celsius (fairly sharpish). I guess this is when the rad thermostat opens. 13 mins: getting off motorway, coolant steady at approx 85 degrees celsius.

  Recently changed the coolant but some blowing from the reservoir suggests I didn't get all the air out of it. This happened last time too. Thought I'd blown the head gasket but it stopped eventually On refil I ran it with a funnel jammed in the radiator fill which coolant could expand into, and stopped after the fan had run for a couple of minutes.

  Hi all I’ve had my Peugeot 307 1.4 (2003) for a few months now, passed its MOT with no advisories last month. In the past week, I've started having a few issues. The main one is the coolant temperature. On the dash, after around 10 mins, the indicator flies up to max and the STOP sign beeps on the dash. It doesnt stay there permanently - it drops down below half way from time to time only to shoot back up.

  But nothing too major until recently, when in qucik succession, I have had to replace the suspension bushes (£200), the cambelt (£300), a Nox sensor (£400) and the coolant pump (£89 plus labour). The main dealer's replacement (the first one went bust) has looked at this today, and has told me: 1) it was a short circuit (on the Adblu pump; and then 2) it wasn't a short circuit on the Adblu pump, and finally 3) it was a faulty coolant pump casuing the Adblu injectors to overheat.

  Hi, I have a Seat Leon 1.6 registered jan 2013. The engine warning light came on and stayed on. Garage said it was fault code P261A00 - coolant pump b egr cooling system fault. Seat customer service HQ said there would be goodwill but that I had to take it to a dealershp - my nearest is 40 miles away. They confirmed it and said it would be £672 to fix (my local garage quoted approx £250-£300) Seat have now refused goodwill and I am at loggerheads with them, waiting for a manager to call me back.

  Driving home tonight, the engine services light came on. I drove about half a mile home then checked the oil and coolant. Coolant = OK Oil = Low, I put about 2 litres in (no sign of leaks but not long had dealer service) I had no indication that the oil was low from engine services which I should have got.

  So my question is - is there an airlock in the rad or has the water pump given up? I mentioned the pump because when the engine is revved the coolant in the header tank doesn't move, whereas on previous cars ive had, the level will drop with the revs as I understand it is supposed to. Thanks in advance for any help!
• CLA 180 - Engine management light 3 Aug 2018 (Forum)
  I was driving on a nice sunny day with the air condition on and suddenly the engine management light came on. I carried out a diagnostics and error code P0128 came up. It reads: Coolant Thermostat {Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature). I cleared the error codes and it was fine for a few days until I decided to drive with the air condition again. Please does anyone know what is going on here?

  I've found pudles of engine coolant in the footwells and in all of the air vents. I'm assuming that the heater matrix has either sprung a leak or become disconnected. The manual has a lovely sketch, but it isn't clear where it's actualy located. the car is right hand drive.
