GARAGE SERVICING: How can I find a reputable garage  to service or repair my car? (FAQs)
The Major Component Confusion Never, ever repair a major component. If, for example, an automatic gearbox has a problem DO NOT INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE. Instead, simply quote for fitting an entirely new automatic gearbox. The fault may be nothing more than a duff solenoid in the valve block, but don't waste time with a £200 job when there is much more profit to be gained from fitting a new autobox at £1,750 plus. -
Guide to getting your motorcycle licence (Article)
You'll need to use the same size and type of motorcycle for both parts - this then qualifies you to ride that particular sub-category of motorcycle. A practical test taken on an automatic motorcycle will only qualify you to ride twist-and-go automatics. To ride motorcycles with gears, you need to take the test on a geared bike. We did our training with PRT in Letchworth, which falls under the Honda School of Motoring. -
Review: Flymo 1200R robot lawn mower (productReview)
Then it’s just a case of connecting the wire to the base station (where the mower automatically comes back to charge its 18V/1.6Ah lithium-ion battery), letting it charge for an hour or so and setting the initial cutting height using the twist-dial on top. Cutting heights are between 20 and 50mm. -
Review: Mio MiVue 792 Wifi Pro (productReview)
Should you come across any major incidents, the in-built GPS system should automatically protect your footage. If you want to make sure, then there is the standard ‘Event button’ that makes sure your recording doesn’t get wiped over before you get a chance to download it. This is bright red and set to the right of the screen, but is small and set flush with the surround, making it hard to press in a hurry should you need to. -
Review: YI Ultra Dashcam (productReview)
It also includes a number of useful and desirable functions such as playback through your smartphone via an app, a three-axis sensor for automatic storing of incidents and voice control. There’s a large 2.7 inch colour screen at the rear controlled by a series of small buttons along its base. What’s it like? YI bills the Ultra Dashcam as being made of lightweight aluminium, but a closer examination of the outer casing suggests a greater proportion of it is more humble plastic. -
Review: Nextbase 512G dash cam (productReview)
Image quality is still very sharp indeed, but it takes up less space on the memory card, meaning you can record more of your journey. As you would hope, there is a shock sensor that will automatically save clips if it detects what it thinks is a collision, or the driver can press the hazard triangle button to save the current three minute clip. That’s useful if you see something interesting, like a collision involving another vehicle or a hazard in the road, since it will prevent the dash camera overwriting that clip later in your journey. -
Review: Blitzwolf BW-ANC1 headphones (productReview)
The headphones last around seven hours, which is a pretty impressive battery life. The Blitzwolf BW-ANC1 will automatically try to pair via Bluetooth when you turn them on for the first time. They can connect to two devices simultaneously and will automatically reconnect to any previously paired device. We easily paired them to a Windows PC at work and an iPhone 6S. -

Review: Roadhawk Vision dash camera (productReview)
That said, there is no GPS sensor on the Vision, so it can’t record location data or speed information, nor can it automatically set its date and time via satellite. The sample below gives an idea of the quality of footage, but files from the memory card are clearer and crisper, since YouTube compressions lowers the overall quality. -
Review: Nextbase 312GW dash cam (productReview)
It would work especially well in conjunction with a hardwiring kit, which most car electricians can fit for a few pounds – Halfords, which sells the 312GW, will do it for £30. When a power source is connected the 312GW starts recording automatically, saving three-minute clips to a memory card up to 32GB – not included with the camera. The default mode is 1080P at 30fps and footage is very clear, even in fairly low light conditions, but if you want a higher frame rate the camera supports 720P at 60fps. -

On the front of the projector, you'll find the 720p lens and a small camera that focuses the projection output - meaning it automatically adjusts the autofocus. We needed to manually adjust the focus every now and then (by holding the HDMI button down for a few seconds) but, generally, it does a very good job of doing this itself. -

Review: Nextbase 412GW dash cam (productReview)
The 412GW has touch sensitive buttons, unlike other Nextbase cameras, but they are responsive and illuminate when in use. The 412GW works like any other dash camera, switching on when it gets power and then automatically recording short clips until full. It then loops over old footage, so it’s always on. If the built-in G sensor detects something unusual, such as hard braking or a bump, it will mark the footage to be saved, so it won’t be recorded over. -

At the bottom of the touchscreen and, there's a red button that you can tap to make sure important footage is saved.
