Jeep Cherokee - Can I Soup Up the Power Steering? 11 Mar 2019 (Forum)
I just bought a Jeep Cherokee and my back is in flames every time I drive it. It's a 2015 Automatic Diesel so it's fairly new and has reasonable power steering but it just feels 20% heavier than my old Hyundai (IX35) and my back seems to be responding badly to it. I'm really not enjoying the ride and wanted to explore my options before I sell it at a big loss. -

Police tailgating me when I touched my phone? 16 Mar 2018 (Forum)
I was scrolling on my music app on a phone holder when I saw a police jeep come up behind me. I automatically switched it off and continued driving but they didn't pull me over. After that I was driving but it kept on following me. I drove 40mph in a 40 zone but the jeep was driving at 30. Whilst I couldn't see them I quickly hid the phone on the seat so that they wouldn't see it. -
Renault Symbol 1.6 L - Renault Symbol 1.6 not cranking when hot 15 Jul 2017 (Forum)
My daughter has a Nissan Platina (Renault Symbol in disguise) with a 1.6L engine. It's an automatic. The problem is that it will not crank at all when hot, starts up perfectly when cold or cool and can be driven all day long. Repairs done so far: - Replaced battery - Replaced starter and cabling - Installed heat protection on starter - Swapped around relays in the engine bay Suspect: Some sensor inhibiting cranking? -
Mitsubishi - What's the point in Mitsubishi these days? 29 May 2017 (Forum)
Shoguns with electronically adjustable shocks, hydraulic suspension (on very high spec ones at least), automatic gearbox tech that even Porsche made use of... rear wheel steering on saloons, smooth v6 engines.. the Sigma was a brilliant car as well, check out this 1990 top gear review- https://youtu.be/q_Gfdr8orOM What on earth happened? -
General - Car purchase advice 4 May 2017 (Forum)
I've been looking st the Dacia Duster to the Ford Focus but no set ideas. Any ideas on something that would retain a reasonable trade in value ? I like automatics but not essential and a DAB radio would be nice. Thanks for reading and advice. -

I am help my daughter to find her very first car for cheap to running and to insure. But when I hear the word CVT sound very complications, I went search on Google to see how it works, when I see a picture of the chain/rubber belt inside the transmission do this required to replace like the timing belt? -
Engine failure on Nissan Qashqai 14 Oct 2016 (Ask HJ)
The 1.5 diesel on my Nissan Qashqai broke, due to turbo failure. Nissan has replaced the engine and I am due to get it back tomorrow. What should I check? -
Best car to buy 21 Jul 2016 (Forum)
As I cover around 20,000 miles per annum, I am looking at a diesel, preferably a hatchback without the dreaded Dual Mass Flywheel. So an automatic or a one with a new flywheel I'm aware these engine have a poor reputation for injector seals and Turbo failures, I've recently done the seals on mine and still have plumes of white smoke in the morning on a cold start. -
Renault grand scenic - accelrator pedal sticking 30 Dec 2015 (Forum)
This has caught me out on several occasions and I have had to either hit the accelerator hard to bounce it back up or get my foot behind it to pull it back. It is nothing to do with floor mats catching either. I have been told that it is to do with automatics if the car is converted. Is this right? It is certainly a worrying feature for manual drivers. I am reluctant to let my children drive it for this reason. I have replaced the pedal but this 'feature' is still there. -

Ford Focus 1.6 Sport 2006 - How to tell if engine is 100ps or 115ps 20 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Hi, I'm about to purchase a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 Sport, the advert in autotrader stated that it had 113 bhp. The garage I'm buying it from says that autotrader automatically populates this data based on the registration number, and he was pretty sure it was accurate. When I entered the registration number into direct line forms for insurance quotes today though, it returned "Ford Focus 1.6I (100) Sport 5dr", the "100" making me think it might actually be the 100ps engine. -

Citroen C4 VTR+ HDi 5 door - Long high speed cruises, comfort and not too wide 5 May 2015 (Forum)
We need to replace it with a comfortable car with reasonable carrying volume and max width of 2000mm to go into a narrow village street. Automatic, cruise and speed control essential, and diesel preferred as it's much cheaper in France and likely to remain so. Prefer used car, max 2 years old and budget up to £20k. Any suggestions?? -
2013 Ford Fiesta1.6 Zetec Powershift - Ford Powershift Gearbox Noises 13 Jan 2015 (Forum)
From two weeks after taking delivery of my secondhand Fiesta automatic there were "clunking" noises coming from the engine compartment at slow speeds (10-20mph) from a cold start. Seven visits to my local Ford Dealer and examination by Ford Technical and software updates have not identified or solved the problems. -
Mitsubishi Mirage 2014 - Are they really as bad as the reviews make out 14 Oct 2014 (Forum)
I really like the idea of a 1.2l petrol engine that doesn't cost anything on road tax (even in automatic form) that is also really light weight. The downsides are that it drives terrible and is noisy (engine and road noise). I did pass one in today and can say it looks better than the pictures suggest. -
Why do some autos roll back on a hill? 11 Oct 2014 (Forum)
I've had a few cars with standard automatic gearbox. Some of them will hold the car still on a hill at idle, but other's won't. Examples: Mercedes W202 2.4 V6 holds, Jaguar S-Type 3.0 v6 holds, Honda CRV 2.0 I4 rolls back. With the cars that hold, it's not a mechnical holding device because if the hill is steep enough it will roll back, but it will hold still on moderate hills. -
Ford Focus - Full disclosure when selling my car? 30 Jul 2014 (Forum)
I'm trying to sell my automatic Focus (78k miles), having never sold a car before. I've had it for 2 1/2 years, and have only had one issue - the gearbox went and I had to get a replacement (from a 40k car) put in by a specialist. -
