  • Nissan Micra K11 1L - Throttle body circuit function? 17 Jan 2011 (Forum)
    When the temperature gauge reached roughly 1/3 of the full scale, upon acceleration the engine would be starved of fuel and would jerk violently. The engine would idle roughly but the fault occurred mainly when the accelerator was pressed. I solved the issue by resoldering all the joints on the throttle body circuit board and now I'm curious as to what the circuit actually does??

    The other day it cut out just before i was about to drive out the driveway, Now today i was driving along the road the the car lost power and slowed down, the revvs cut down to just below 1000rpm then the engine stalled or cut out, Can anyone please advise what the problem might be, Ive had the egr value, Cam Crank sensor, checked they are ok so im told, also fuel and airfilter changed , Its only done 33k no warning lights came on excpet the glowplug light flashed before it stalled!

    The usual elementary checks were made. filters, injectors, compression,glow plugs,etc and all was ok The local BMW dealer kept it for two days during hard weather leaving it outside, and said the problem was in the Dme control unit that manages all the fuel and air settings.  This was replaced and it went away for a while. But now its back and this time they are looking at the autobox torque converter.

    Hi all, Im new to honest john so please bare with me..I recently purchased a s reg 306 1.9 td sport. its been great the past few weeks apart form a bit of smoke in the mornings but this morning would not start i had to jump start it, since then the car has gone down hill to the point now where it has no power and spluttering the car will rev freely with a bit of smoke but will not drive. i have changed fuel filter and there does not seem to be any air getting in the diesel system. could this be a turbo problem or timing? thanks stu

    Typcal journeys weekly are short but then every couple of months there is a 500 mile round trip (no trailer) to consider, good fuel economy is therefore key for us. With a budget of up to £16/17k or thereabouts, we've narrowed it down to a Subaru Legacy Spouterourer (2.0 diesel - probably the 2008 model) or a Passat Estate (again, 2.0 tdi 170 PS) any thoughts/considerations/experience from you would be gratefully received.

    There are articles about the petrol being corrosive and damaging metal tanks and pipes but not to the engine. Could the valves have been damaged? Would replacing the fuel filter if I could find it, be worth doing?

    takes about 10 - 12 turns of the motor before it finaly catches, then its fine the rest of the day starting of the button ! i've replaced the glow plugs for new ngk ones and replaced the fuel filter and have ran injector cleaner through the system but is still the same when trying to start in the morning !!  Any help would be appreciated !

    hello im at my wits end . my car seems to lose acceleration on build up to 50mph its like its going to ideling speed the engine just dies then builds back up again  this happens only in gear . out of gear reving is ok no loss of power or revs , i have beeen told it could be either the injecters blocked or the fuel pump .to solve the problem the main dealer want to charge in excess of 1800 pounds (sod that) any information would greatly be appreicated

    I recently bought one and it judders and jerks at low revs around 1000 - 1500 revs. I have been told that a new air filter, new oil filter, new fuel filter and an oil change should sort the problem and it should give more MPG - I am only adveraging around 23MPG. But I was also told that it is worth cleaning the EGR valve. Thanks

    hi i have a mondeo 1.8 ultima petrol i had problems with my immobiliser box key fob failure like others had    there are 12 black leads into the box all numbered from 1 to 16 not all are used . 15 & 16 are the fuel pump & relay join them together 13 & 11 dizzy to ecu join them together 9 & 10  coil  to dizzy  join them together ignore all other leads  disconnect box from plug throw box & key fob in bin immoboliser no longer required done mines had no problem since 4 years ago RICH

    There's lots of stuff in the press lately about electric cars, some with fuel engines to charge them up or drive a generator, some without.  I've never seen any mention of the heater, though - which for oldish thin me is the most important thing of all for most of the year.

    The mileometer also stops, the car loses a little bit of power, and the volume of the radio suddenly drops. My fuel warning light is NOT affected, and nor is the rev counter. Also, it is not an intermittent problem (i.e. probably not a loose or poor electrical or mechanical connection) because it happens JUST ONCE on every journey from cold, and always after about 4 miles of driving.

    Hi, I have a Nissan Navara 2.5 which is failing to start, the engine turns over but there is a stored fault code "E1 NATS Malfunction"  I suspect the immobiliser unit is not picking up the transponder signal from the key or it is not signalling the engine ECU with the correct information? (Faulty Immobiliser)  If the car has a fuel cut-off solenoid at the rear of the injector pump is there a way of energising this to (allow operation) from the wiring into / out of the PCM/ECU?  Is there anywhere I can download a wiring diagram for the car, Engine Electronics, ECU (PCM) and immobiliser unit?

    I have confirmed that no air is getting into the system before and after the pump by splicing in a small piece of clear pipe. Could it be a problem connected to the fuel system or should I concentrate on the engine internals?   Thanks   Stewart

    car first gave me trouble about two years ago,stopped while driving like fuel was cut off.my car radio had been stolen a few months previously so suspected wiring had been damaged.took car to electrician and detected some faults in loom.fault fixed and car has been ok since.this week same problem happened,car just went dead while driving.towed to garage and when taken off towtruck car started but then car went beserk,now all lights on dash on and also radiator blower on.any ideas?

    bought the car a couple of months ago basically sold as seen. going fine up until 2 weeks ago when the car started to lose power, tried going down a gear and some acceleration but at 2500 revs the car started to shudder then the engine management light came on. took it to the local garage after code read showed no fault, although coil pack was changed. yesterday same thing has happened have been told could be a fuel problem. has anyone experienced the same on their 1.6 sxi or give me any advice on what the problem could be.

    what could it be, i gave it a full service when i bought it 5k miles ago. also driving steady or driving fast it dosent seem to make a difference to how much fuel it uses. im getting at tops if im lucky 150miles to £20. there is no eml light when i put the ignition on but there were no fault codes either. any help would be great cheers

    Hi my car did not start , it use to turn over but would not fire anyway i have got a machinc to tow it away and have a look at it which is going cost me £60 he had said to me that primer bulb is very hard and it should be soft? but thought it should be hard because it has fuel in it ? anyway he going to tell me 2morrow how much is going to cost to get it fixed , is he ripping me off , i thought it was the glow plugs. any one have any ideas about the primer blub?     A snippet from an article I just read about diesels: "Diesel engines function differently from petrol engines. They do not have complicated electronic fuel ignition systems. This eliminates the potential for failure, and improves reliability, reducing associated repair costs." Now correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I am hearing diesels are now very much more unreliable than petrols.

    1.5 dci runs perfect at high speed motor way but sometimes in traffic upon setting off or moving up a gear some steady driving hesitates for about 2-3 seconds then picks up but somes for a couple of seconds beeen doing it for the last 6 weeks over 4k miles fuel fliter changed & oil changed & filter, new air filter & had two lots of injector cleaner added having looked at forum earlier somelse has reported the air temperature sensor may be at fault does the 1.5 have the same!!!
