Rust 13 Aug 2001 (Forum)
On another subject I recently returned to the UK to see my family and had to drive the full lengh of the M1 and M62 in both directions. As far as increasing the speed limit I found most Uk drivers are not capable of driving never mind driving fast. Also the truck drivers tailgating at 70mph should be locked up.I never saw one police car on the whole of the M1 trip and only two cameras both in Yorkshire.Laned disipline ,lack of indicating and tailgating well what can you say.I drove the previous month 6000km throughout Europe France Spain Italy Austria and back to Germany and never saw anything like the Uk .No wonder insurance is so high in the Uk compared to mainland Europe.I would say driving in Sau Paulo Brazil is saver than London, perhaps Mark will comment on that. -

Renault Grand Espace, Ssangyong Tourismo - Renault Grand Espace or Ssangyong Tourismo? 28 Mar 2025 (Forum)
This car will need to tow a light boat, and will also do a lot of miles, with regular trips to the North East of England as well as around 2 trips a year to France/Spain. I have £5k to spend, and both fit nicely into this price range, I just wondered if anyone has any advice or opinions on each, or what else I should look at? A Chrysler Voyager looks nice too, but not as big. -
Car Suggestions 15 Feb 2024 (Forum)
I had a Renegade as a hire car last year, was convinced I'd hate it and actually found it remarkably comfortable and serene to drive. We were visiting friends who literally live up a mountain in Spain and the extra ground clearance really helped on their track. I'm wondering if the extra softness in the suspension is what made it comfy. I could go for a Renegade, although the boot's a little small, maybe a Vitara or even Duster, but no idea if they'll be OK on the motorway. -

Chamfered speed "bumps" - worst design ever? 20 Sep 2015 (Forum)
These pesky inventions are appearing all over towns in Spain, often as a cheaper measure than fill-width humps. No doubt they enable buses and large emergency vehicles with wider axles to drive across them without impeding progress but for ordinary motorists they are a pain. -

Hyundai Santa Fe - Chances in small claims court 12 May 2012 (Forum)
We have never really driven the car on any long journey (90miles at the most) but we decided to go to Spain this year by driving through France and the car broke down at a French Toll Booth. The fault has been diagnosed as the gearbox and this will need to be replaced. We have had the car serviced every year by a local garage as the Dealership is 45 miles away, this has been done with the scedule in the owners manual as well as evreything else getting a visual inspection (Fluid levels ect). -

1.2 VW Polo - Hire Car Misfuelling Incident 27 May 2013 (Forum)
This is my first post, so I am hoping somebody can give me some helpful advice on a situation I have got myself into. I hired a car in Spain last week and when returning it to the airport, the tank had to be full. As I drove around the outskirts of the airport, pretty much every garage I could find was closed (it was in the middle of the Spanish Siesta period). -

Cheap solar family EV to go on sale next year! 2 Aug 2022 (Forum)
Same with this car, it may seem the UK isn't especially sunny, and of course compared to somewhere like Spain, it isn't. But the car is out all the time, so all those sunny spells, however short, are going to accumulate to put power in. Combined with the cheap purchase price, which effectively means the solar aspect is free, this is truly a no brainer for someone who is not interested in image or impressing their neighbours. -
