Nationwide AC - Servicing 29 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I have looked at there website and looked over what they do for a 'major service' and for the price of £260 (with AA discount) they will do the following - Oil and Filter change Plugs Fuel filter air filter Replace brake fluid and bleed system Drain cooling and replace coolant Plus all the checks. My car is a 98 Mercedes c240 sport. Do you think thats a good price? Would a indy do a major service for that or a cheaper price? -

Toyota RAV 4 (2000 - 2006) - 02 2.0 Fault 1135 2 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I had the car serviced but before they could check the fault the light went out. It came back on again and when I took it back it showed fault 1135 Air fuel sensor heater circuit (bank 1). Have read a bit on the forum about this. I would like to try and sort this myself if I can. Could anyone give me some detailed instructions of what I need to do. Thankyou. -
Jeep Grand Cherokee (1994 - 1999) - 95 4.0 Unable to start 15 Aug 2009 (Forum)
The commonest problem I've seen with these is the crank sensor although this did seem a bit all of a sudden as there was now warning or other problems leading up to it. fuel pump primes and engine turns over fine. I read somewhere that you can get the fault codes on your dash but not sure any help would be appreciated. I have checked relay's fuses and ordinary stuff. -
How much do you spend a month for a car? 8 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Just wondering waht most peole have to pay in total for their car per month? If we dont include fuel which is very subjective. Exclude company cars as not relevant. What make and model and how old, was it bought new or used and for how much? Include loan cost per month but state over how many years. -

Vauxhall Vectra B facelift (1999 - 2002) - 1999 Petrol 1.8LS Misfire 9 Mar 2009 (Forum)
My car is misfiring (like its running on 3 cylinders) when accelerating and seems to get worst when the car warms up. It only does it up to around 2000 revs and then above that seems ok. I have had the fuel filter replaced, Spark plugs replaced and Cam shaft sensor replaced but still doing the same and seems to be getting worst. It has been hooked to the diagnostics computer but this is not coming up with any faults?? -
Ford Fiesta (2009 - ) - Good deal for Fiesta Zetec 1.4? 27 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I've been hunting round for good deals for a new Zetec 1.4 (met paint), and so far the best I've had from a dealer is: £10096, inc 12 months RT, mats, fuel, automatic wipers+lights, Vision blue met. paint. Does that sound like a good deal? Any feedback would be appreciated :) I've seen a couple of places cheaper online, but I'd like to part ex my old 06 Fiesta Style Climate 1.25 (22k miles). £3700 part-ex value from that dealer. -
Chrysler - FIAT takes a stake [Read Only] 21 Jan 2009 (Forum)
In exchange, Fiat will bring Chrysler what it needs to be a viable player in the evolving United States market, with its fuel-efficient engine technology and the engineering that goes into its small cars.' Interesting. Chrysler has a terrible reputation in Europe and FIAT has a terrible reputation in America. A match made in heaven! -
Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - going into limp mode, BBC Watchdog report. 15 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Watchdog link: http://tinyurl.com/7dz6p3 Don't know to what extent this was just a 'scare story' but thought it was worth mentioning. Affects 2.2 petrols, due to faulty fuel pumps and regulators. Programme was trying to get Vauxhall to pay for out-of-warranty repairs. Our old L reg 2.0 Cavalier did the same thing a few times, including on the motorway, although that used to recover if you left it alone for half an hour or so. -

MPGs when idling / rolling down a hill 11 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Now I saw something a few weeks back that suggested modern engines when you take the foot off the accelerator stop the flow of fuel completely when going downhill.. Is that true ? It would certainly explain what I've noticed ! {made non make/model specific} -
The F1 & motorsport thread - Vol 27 [Read Only] 5 Dec 2008 (Forum)
With the cars being reliable and more evently matched these days I still think it will be difficult for anyone to pass Schuey's record 7 titles. Who remembers when cars used to run out of fuel on the very last part of the race (no refuelling then) and they'd even try pushing the car! Or is that me imagining they actually tried that on the finish straight. -
Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - New car - driving tips 9 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Bought a new car yesterday to replace the Accord - picked up a VW Passat 1.9 TDi 130 with 90k on the clock. Delighted so far but wondering about the best way to drive it for optimal fuel efficiency. Fairly spirited driving around country lanes and A-roads has led to an average of about 45mpg, but driving the same roads very carefully and essentially "mimsing" along only gave 38mph. -
Vauxhall Corsa B (1993 - 2000) - 1996 1.4 Poor acceleration under load 5 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Have a Corsa 1.4 and its gutless under load, the car goes well until I have to accelerate qiickly or drive up a hill.Had the engine electrics checked out and was told there were no recorded faults. Its not missing, the air filter is ok,I will be checking fuel filter next. I have noticed an air flow sensor in the air duct between air filter and throttle butterfly.Could this be the problem and is there any more in the air intake. Has anyone got any ideas
