  hi the vehicle was stood for 2 months whilst waiting for a clutch master slave fixing now it wont start of the key but will start with easy start it will stay running for 10 mins then cut out,its had new diesal filters on ive cleaned the fuel lines out,when primeing the lift pumpi can hear fuel bubbling back to the tank,and also theres frothing coming from 1 of the injectors anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong with it...thanks

  my 2005 ford focus 1.6 tdci as developed a power loss problem. it will be driving ok then all of a sudden it just as no power, as though there is a blockage in the fuel line. its only for a couple of seconds, it loses power, growls a little and gives out a puff of smoke and then its fine again for a few moments then it does it again. its generally ok at higher speeds. its just been serviced, all the filters done, fuel filter changed twice just in case that was the problem, and i always use shell v-power diesel or similar. please help.

    Could keep going short distances but then lost power completely.  Usually started again after 10 minutes to an hour.  Symptoms of fuel starvation, but garage could not find problem, despite running Chrysler diagnostics.  Eventually one garage, which had experience of this model of this age, correctly identified the fault as the rev counter on the crank shaft (and possibly cam shaft too) being faulty and sending wrong information to the fuel injector.

  Don't take to much notice of trip computers before you have checked them out by noting down the TOTAL mileometer reading, filling the fuel tank up, doing the miles, topping the fuel tank up again, then deducting the last mileage reading from the present reading, then dividing the answer by the gallons used. Do this several times to check out the trip meter fully.

  Just wanted to share my experience recently of getting parts. I was told I needed a new fuel pressure regulator for a bosch fuel pump. Peugeot wanted £300.  I thought about cutting the middle man out and going straight to bosch.  I managed to find a local distributor off the bosch website and found one for £98.

  Berlingo 2.0hdi (June 2002) 90bhp got a bad misfire, sounds like running on 3 , has siemens injection system, had new injection pump 8 months ago, have changed fuel filter, we seem to have very little pressure out of the high pressure side of the injection pump to the common rail, have removed feed pipe from common rail , seem to have very little fuel delivery out of pump when cranking.Could it be electronic problem with pump, ie partially opened solenoid, or could pump be faulty.

  A friend has the 2006 version and is very happy, although given his level of extra urban driving I am surprised at the comparatively poor level of fuel economy he gets. Given the amount of urban driving I do, I would really like to know the urban fuel consumption, not just the combined figure. Can anyone help?
