  However without any suggestion from me the dealer has offered to pay half the parts cost plus labour which is still £1,200 pretty shocking for a low mileage 4 year old car.  Anyone else got this problem?  Bob Dee

  You can also feel the vibrations from the kncking. The car is well looked after and only has 60,000 miles on the clock. Cards on the table, what could it be and what would it cost to fix? Suspension? Engine mount? Axle?  Thanks for your time.

  Could anyone give me their opinion on: - an approximate percentage probability of me having issues with an EGR valve and / or a DPF if I buy a 6-7 year old VW Sharan? Budget £10-12k. - an approximate cost for each at a good independent garage. The car ticks the boxes for what I need - space etc. I'd happily get a petrol but the 1.4TSI seems more problematic than the diesel.

  Girlfriend fell in love with it and must admit it does stand out and look kind if good in a wierd way. Understand its based on an old micra so assume reliability wise its ok. Does anyone have any thoughs or has anyone owned one? and what should i look for? Also were they all jap cars and then been imported over the years or were they sold here as well?

  I'm currently looking at buying a Fiat 500L as a mid-size family car.   What I find puzzling is that there are an awful lot that appear to have been sat for the last nine months or so. All of the examples appear to be about 18 months old, have between 15 and 20K miles on them, and the tax is showing as due since between October and December 2014.
• Vectra Diesel - Sluggish 6 May 2015 (Forum)
  The helicopter company car is a 6 year old Vectra 2.0 DI LS Estate which has only done 14 k. I inherited it from the previous incumbent and it passed MOT OK in July but it has been and still is very underused and getting very sluggish on accelleration, especially first thing after start up although no problems with starting at all.

  Leaving the services on the A3 heading towards Weybridge, fully-loaded with tools and steps on the roof so the old Berlingo needed a good run-up down the slip-road to join the traffic. I had to undertake a car doing about 30mph, who then (I assume, as they were behind) watched me safely accelerate up to the traffic speed, using the whole of the slip road ...only to pull out into the flow of traffic at about 40 - 50mph, about a third to half way down the length of the slip road.

  My car has just had its 45k service although it has only done 30k. It is just over 3 yrs old and just out of warranty.  The mechanic noticed a noisy diff and diagnosed a faulty pinion which will need replacing.

    It has been comfortable, economical, reasonably reliable and the parts needed have been reasonably priced.  The Astra I had before that had the same engine, That car had to be scrapped at 135,000 miles because of engine failure. I am minded to buy an Astra of similar vintage for the wife.  Because I have come across occasional  comments on the internet about the lack of durability of the Isusu diesel engine, I would like advice, please, on the best engine to get in an old Astra.

   At this point the battery warning light comes on as well. The battery is less than 6months old. If i then restart the engine..it does exactly the same thing. Thanks for any advice.

  My car suffers almost total power loss once up to running temperature but usually performs normally when cold. Diagnosis from a Bosch specialist says the turbo actuator has failed and that a new turbo is the answer.

  After visiting my usuall mechanic we found the emmisions a bit on the high side, but as this model is usually factory set, my mechanic wasnt sure how to adjust it or what to do to improve the matter. He cannot run a diagnostic on it as its too old. On the whole its a great little car and has caused me very lttle trouble. It has done 123k miles and still whizzes around fine. I would like to keep it as long as poss. Ideas please!

  The car has done 28,000 miles, has a full service history and there have been no engine problems during the 18 months of my wife's ownership. Are Landrover justified in rejecting the warantee claim?

  My X5 is now more than 3 years old and needs a oil service inc microfilter,and rear+front pads.BMW's own dealers have quoted more than £1000  or £1400 if discs need replacing! An independent BMW specialist has quoted £450.My question is now I do not have do stick with BMW for my now expired 3 year warranty,if I use an independent now will I have difficulty selling the car privately in the future or more importantly will I have trouble in part ex'ing my X5 for a new BMW in 2 years time?

  Hi, I have a corsa b 1.5TD suddenly the heater stopped blowing out hot air, i have replaced the thermostat a new heater matrix and flushed out the old cooland and replaced with new anti-freeze. I now have heat, but only when i accelerate 2krpm and above when i leave the car to idle for 20mins the temperature doesnt rise but as soon as a accelerate it does and i have heat.

  Switching off and restarting seems to solve the problem but after a couple of minutes its there again until I start driving normally/faster. The car has only done 5k miles and is 8 months old. My Ford dealer has had a look at it and can't find anything wrong. I really don't know what to do.
