Smart Fortwo - front brakes both seized 15 Feb 2012 (Forum)
What would cause both front brakes to seize when the engine is running? If i open thebleed nipple to release the pressure, the wheel frees up but without the bleed nipple open, the pistons wont push in. I thought it might be te servo but the rear wheels are fine which is really odd at as i beleive these cars operate a dual line braking system. -
Renault Scenic 11, phase 1 - '53 reg - Throttle body location 14 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I'm about to attempt a clean out of my cars throttle body as a last attempt to cure a starting/running issue - not a job I'm familiar with, to be honest. Could anyone help me out by giving me some idea of where the throttle body is located, and how difficult it is to remove/clean? My engine is a 1.6 vvt K4M. -
Mitsubishi Shogun Sport 2.5 Trojan 2006 - Fuel consumption high? 18 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I have recently bought a 2006 Shogun Sport 2.5 Trojan with 44,000miles on the clock. Whilst I'm very pleased with it a long run down the quiet French motorways turned in about 24mpg. Never really went above 75mph and most of the time 65mph (about 3,000 revs). It's got winter tyres on it. Is this what I should expect? -
Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - 07 1.8D Battery/Electrical Issues 8 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I've had the battery replaced, a number of intermittent front headlight faults that cannot be traced, the immobiliser has taken a few attempts to dis-arm. On attempting to start the car after it not running for only 7 days the battery was flat again. There doesn't appear to be anything obvious draining the battery and it is definitely charging. -

Renault K7M - Temporary misfire 2 Aug 2011 (Forum)
At the bottom of the hill, the ignition was switched to on-which started it. However, the engine run lumpily and would not rev past 2000RPM. After the engine was switched off, it restarted as normal with no further symptoms. It has left us stumped. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened? -
renault clio 1.4 priviledge - Lambda sensor & misfiring 22 Jun 2011 (Forum)
My son has been experiencing rough running at tickover, we took it to the garage and their scanner indicated that the pre-cat lambda sensor reading was all over the scale, they replaced the sensor but this did not improve things the readings were still way out, so they got another in in case this one was faulty and the same has happened again. has anyone experienced this problem that can help us sort it out. -

Webroot Antivirus 6 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Having initially wondered why the top end version of the current Webroot antivirus was so much more reasonable than the usual Norton/Macaffee efforts, I have just found the explanation - it slowed down my web browsing to chronic levels!! I'm running a fairly middle of the road nearly new Toshiba laptop on Win 7 Home Premium, and doing nothing above usual surfing activity. Anybody else had any problems with this software? -
2001 Vauxhall Astra - 2001 Astra Misfire Problem 25 May 2011 (Forum)
The orange engine management light has come on permanently and when idling it seems to be running on just three cylinders. When driving the management light flashes under acceleration and there is a serious lack of power up to about 4000rpm when it seems better again. Any advice would be appreciated. -
Volvo V40 11.9 tdi - Dodgy temp gauge 7 Apr 2011 (Forum)
My dads volvo has a problem where the temperature gauge flicks from flat cold to red hot and back again quite often. It moves around really quickly. Also - when he stops, the engine fans continue running at full speed and make a lot of noise. They continue for about 5 minutes after switching off. Car has plenty of coolant and is not overheating, could this just be a dodgy thermostat or sensor? -
Peugeot 307 1.6l petrol 2003. - Peugeot 307 1.6l petrol crankshaft pulley runout. 4 Apr 2011 (Forum)
Tracked once-a-day belt noise to a crankshaft pulley wobble. This runout seems to be the cause of belt noise in the first run of the day when auxiliary belt is dealing with alternator plus power steering plus aircon. My query relates to the style of fabrication or mounting which might lead to this condition and whether this is a known/previously reported problem? -
Match - VW Polo ABS warning light 3 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Three months ago we purchased a Valtswagon Polo Match from a local garage and it came with a new MOT certificate. It is a second car for me to use for shopping, the school run etc. The breaks seem to take a long time to react and occasionally the ABS warning light comes on. Can anyone advise please as there was no indications on the MOT certificate and we have not done many miles in this car to warrant any wear on the breaks. -
Citroen Synergie - Sudden loss of power 17 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Hi I have a 1998 Citroen Synergie 2.0 petrol that has an intermittent fault. It will suddenly lose power(especially likes doing this at roundabouts) and feels as if it is hunting for petrol. The idle then seems to increase.I have replaced the idle stepper motor and cleaned the pipe that runs from that to the oil filler, but problem is still there.Could it be the throttle position sensor? and is so, where is located. On another point, is there a manual I could download? Any help in resolving this problem would be appreciated -

1.9d VW Polo - starting???? 26 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I had a new battery in June last year and have been told the battery is ok. The altenator is charging so after a 150 mile run, you would think it would be ok the next day, but its not. It turns over very slowly or fails to start at all. Please help/advise. Thanks
