Kangoo van 2001 - Manual and towbar 19 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Been given the job of finding a decent towbar for a Kangoo van but all the ones on ebay are headed up by pics not relating to the listed item, and requested specific photos are not forthcoming. The owner needs to see a photo before committing to buying. Can anyone provide a link to a seller who has an illustration of what they`re actually selling.A good solid make(he will be towing trailer laden to legal max),easy to fit and inline or cheaper than the £63 ones on ebay? He`s also after a manual which will cover the 1.9 diesel engine fitted ,and claims he can`t find a manual to cover the Kangoo van. Any advice would be appreciated and acknowledged. Thanks. -
volvo s40 - Tensioner snapped 14 Jul 2012 (Forum)
My Volvo S40 (2002) won't start the garage I take it to have said the tensioner has snapped causing damage to the engine and would be £1000's to repair. Just over a month a go the same garage replaced the VVT pulley. I've only done a few hundred miles since, I was wondering whether replacing the VVT pulley incorrectly could have caused the tensioner to snap and if so what evidence, come back do I have. -

2xQuattrac3 + 2x Rain Expert ..mixing all weather 1 Feb 2012 (Forum)
With 12k on them , and with fronts most worn on my Front WD diesel, was considering putting 2 vredesteine quatrac 3's on the front..with a view to going to all 4 eventually. Finances a bit tight, as is storage space so winter tyres not an option. I plan to keep the car another 2 years..I know it is not good to mix winter and summer tyres, but would mixing all weathers with regulars be a safety issue..I hope it would provide some improvement over the coming months should the weather turn yukky again..thoughts ?? -
Vauxhall Astra MK4 - Tyre Pressures 28 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Hi there, I have been filling my tyres PSI up to 34 PSI all round for the past few months. My tyres are 205/50 R16's. My question is, am I filling these up correctly because the front two tyres seem to be quite flat and sluggish at times, and showing at 35 PSI on the machine?? Can somebody verify any tyre pressures please? -
Renault Kangoo - Intermittent Speedo / Odometer 16 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Is this likely to be a fault with the speed sensor unit (which is presumably fitted to the gearbox) or something else (if so, please advise probable cause/s). Incidentally, is the sensor linked to an engine management unit? (if it is, then is the 'zero' speed indicated by the odometer making the EMU reduce the fuel supply, for example, thus causing the running 'problem' described above)? -

VW - any - Oilchanging and mixing 11 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I don't believe there is any real problem in mixing oils of the same basic spec, and surely new oil is better for the engine than the old that comes out tar black. Or am i just wasting ££££'s ? -

Any - Tailgating 28 Nov 2010 (Forum)
The problem is that because people could drive faster just as safely there is a lot of tailgating on this stretch of road. The people doing this drive anything from a black cab to a flatbed lorry. Whilst many 100's of people have been fined for speeding I have not heard of anybody being done for tailgating which is potentially much more dangerous along that stretch of road. -
Mercedes Benz S320 W220 Petrol - 2001 - 97,000ms - rough idle 26 Nov 2010 (Forum)

Peugeot 405 Diesel - Ticking noise 6 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Air con does not work but switch in or out makes no difference. What is the device under the rear of the N/S wing? this appears to be the source of the noise. Haynes doesn't help. The electrics are shot on this car as an "Auto electrician" attacked the car to stop the battery being flattened. I guess this may have been someone at a garage as I bought it with an MoT that it shouldn't really have passed. -
Which 3/4 year old 7 seater? 16 Oct 2010 (Forum)
I have owned a 2003 Chrysler Grand Voyager (from new) and a 1997 Renault Espace (current car). I am considering: 2006/2007 Renault Espace 2007 Ford S-Max 2007 Ford Galaxy I would like a car that has decent seats in the third row and not the flimsy ones you find in the Vauxhall Zafira. On the other hand I don't want a car as large as the Chrysler. -
1998 Renault Laguna weird steering 18 Jul 2010 (Forum)
I can't imagine that would even affect the steering geometry at all let alone enough to cause the type of pulling that I am encountering. Anybody had anything like this before? I was sure it was a broken spring/s but I can't see it. -
Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (2003) Hatchback - Third brake light (center) not working 10 May 2010 (Forum)
I recently noticed that my third brake light at the top center of the rear screen is not working, although the left and right brake lights work perfectly. What could the problem be? Firstly is the center brake light powered by globe(s) that can be replaced or LEDs? The manual provides instruction for replacing all globes except the center brake light, so I suspect that it may be LEDs that are supposed to last the life of the car. -

Are you a Motorway Man? 23 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I read with interest an article in the FT yesterday that said the general election may well be won by the changing vote of "motorway man" a shorthand marketing speak for people who live in constituencies in the Midlands and the North now with alot of infill new housing estates who drive alot, for work and for leisure, who take or use alot of carbon intensive resources to fly and move about.... http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/0283fcbe-06f5-11df-b058-00144feabdc0.html If so (and trying to keep this motoring related) it looks interesting. How is any government going to appeal to them when they're defined by their high consumption of something the government wants to cut back on - excessive car use and a car dependency culture plus one taking alot of flights...
