  Now 11 months, still satisfied, no further compaints, after 3 fill ups on Tesco momentum, shell v power, a noticeable improvement in fuel economy when on a "run", about 8% on my pifometer.... Due a service in December, so will go to the excellent Kerridges.. Off to see a UK spec MG HS shortly, but not on my future list...

  Would anyone have any ideas what could be wrong before she contacts a garage. Could it be a blocked fuel filter or somethink more serious. Thank's for any help and replies. Sparky100

  The tables in the Which? report didn't consider residual values at all.  Apart from the fuel savings, my '09 XF 3.0d cost £1k more than the petrol 3.0, and is now worth £4k more at trade-in. And it's a better drive!  A typical Which? headline grabber with little substance.  The real question is why diesel in the UK costs 15-20p more a litre than our European neighbours are paying, whereas petrol costs are about the same.

  I will use generally for short distance. will there be more difference on mpg? I'm afraid of Mazda 2.0's fuel consumption. :)

  Checked all relavant PIDS for PCM on IDS nothing drops out when vehicle stops. checked all relavent connectors for corosion or moisture, checked PCM power and grounds. also no fuel contamination.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rosco

  Hi I have a jaguar x type diesel that wont start it turns over ok but just wont fire its I've only had it two weeks and was driving fine its apparently had new injectors new fuel filter when I bought the car any ideas please I'm pulling my hair out. Kind regards Eddie.

  Does anyone own or lease one, if so I would be interested to read your thoughts on this car in relation to ownership, fuel consumption, any niggles, etc. I have read the review on here but it is based on an earlier model.
• Mitsubishi Outlander - brake calipers seizing 9 Mar 2017 (Forum)
  Just replaced a front brake caliper to now find out that the other front caliper and opposite rear are now sticking. Fuel consumption has dropped and heat generating in affected wheels(all understandably).  Is it just a case of replacing all the calipers or could it possibly be an electronic fault? have been told it might be some kind of an active brake system applying to much pressure and not fully releasing espacially as its front and rear opposing calipers.

  Cars done 52 k miles is it worth spending £500 or should we part ex and get a new petrol engine replacement. Same problem we had with previous Fiesta 1.4TDC, we've also had grief with fuel pipe leaks. In reliable and not doing the stated mpg stated. Worth repair or get rid ?

  I took it to a mechanic and have had new glow plugs, some thing which tells the plugs to turn on/EGR valve, No problem with the fuel pump but every morning it just turns over and will not start as soon as I put a tiny squirt of easy start in it fires up straight away and starts all day but the following day the same thing will happen, this has happened for a few weeks now Any ideas Thank u

  Hi,can anyone tell me where the primer pump is on a picasso c3 ('60') the owners book states its under a cover on top of engine by the filter,i cannot find it at all.I have a felt type cover on the top with two rubber grommets holding it on and once removed there is no sign of a priming bulb or the like.I only need to know for future reference in case of running out of fuel. if its any help the engine is a SH9HPO TYPE DIESEL. thanx gary

  Hi , I recently had the coil pack replaced in may on my car , a few days later the exhaust started smelling of eggs, it died off when I changed fuel brands Sainsburys to asda , but ive filled up with sainsburys again and its back.   It tends to smell when im idling or reversing, I go away in two weeks so need to get it looked at .

  Our 57 plate 1.6 petrol Zetec Focus has long standing starting problem when both hot or cold but it is worse when hot, it turns over but will not fire. Searching the internet these 4 causes seem common: Fuel pump. Engine temp sensor. Crank position sensor. UCU fault, might need a software update. Have talked to a local garage the cheapest and easiest option seem to change both sensor and see it cures the fault.

  Then, once the dials have gone through the test function, pressed the trip reset button on the dash. After a couple of days I get flashing lines where the fuel used is and also on the estimated remaining mileage before refuel. It also gives a reading of 99.9 mpg. Does anyone have any idea. Thanks

  Now the extra power I can understand by turning up the turbo a bit but extra economy? Surely that is rubbish. When you are accelerating, you'll be usibng more fuel as the turbo is turned up and when you are cruising surely it makes no difference to economy. Thoughts/Experiences most welcome.

  It looks exactly the same but just because it looks the same does not mean it is same. I would be using the same fuel pump and injectors as I have always been using. Just need info on the short block and crankshaft   Thanks

  while driving along today, the engine on our 2.0 diesel just seem to cut out as though the fuel had been cut off and came to a standstill, all lights are showing on dash and are ok and the engine turns over on starter motor but will not start, these models are camchain and not cambelt so i wouldn't suspect the camchain to break, but who knows!!!

  Ford focus, intermittently judders and loses power. Usually after about fifty miles. Have replace fuel filter and pump. Drives fine for ages then shudders a bit. Then a mile or so on, just loses power over about thirty seconds. Mechanic says when he changed the filter, but before changed the pump, it did it all the time and wouldn't start properly.

  I have driven both and found the 2.0 a bit quieter and a bit more gutsy but am concerned about the fuel economy; I've looked at Real MPG and just wanted to check whether anyone has experience of the post-facelift 2.0 CRDi - is it any better or just the same as the old one? Thanks

  I have looked but cannot see any wire's just the diesel pipe going to the injectors and the return pipe. plus how can I check the fuel pump is running. thanks for any help you can give.
