Hyundai iX35 - iX35 1.7 or 2.0 Diesel - which to go for

Hyundai iX35 - iX35 1.7 or 2.0 Diesel - which to go for - DK1973

Finally decided to go for a new iX35 and would appreciate any advice on whether to go for the 1.7 or the 2.0 Diesel. I have driven both and found the 2.0 a bit quieter and a bit more gutsy but am concerned about the fuel economy; I've looked at Real MPG and just wanted to check whether anyone has experience of the post-facelift 2.0 CRDi - is it any better or just the same as the old one?

Personally, I am running with an ix35 1.7 diesel (2010) and found the car to be very responsive and a good reliable motor. Hope you enjoy yours too.

I haven't driven this model but in general with this sort of issue, if you only drive gently, the smaller engine wil do fine, but if you like to get a move on, go for the bigger engine. To make brisk progress you'd have to work the smaller engine harder, thus reducing or negating the economy advantage.
