Where Rubber meets Road 6 Jun 2023 (Forum)
In the not too distant future when the percentage of EVs hits 25% the GOV is to have a loss of revenue of some £9billion due to no VED and fuel duty on EVs. Clearly the GOV will have to come up with some solution as the situation is unfair on ICE drivers and revenue loss is unsustainable The link gives a couple of suggestions aimed at EVs or perhaps a fairer system for all Ford S-MAX 2.0L TDCI Duratorq - S-max 2014 tdci 2.0L - how to immobilise? 17 May 2022 (Forum)

What is the point of making a new car with two power units that will only achieve a miserable fuel consumption? The buyer is trying to get some redress from Hyundai but like many I suspect he has bought the wrong car for his needs. -
n/a - Which pump Love? 27 Dec 2019 (Forum)
Does anyone remember a wonderful tale posted here about an old chap trying to pay for his fuel who was not familiar with how pump numbers worked? This is going back many years - early 2000's probably. The girl behind the counter asked him which pump he had used and he replied 34. I won't spoil the punchline, but it was comedy gold. -

KIA Sorento 2012 - 'Check Water Separator' 5 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Kia Sorento 2012 diesel, message flickering 'check water separator', which is the fuel filter I believe. Not a DIY job (for me), and car next service is April (still under warranty). Do I wait for warning light to stay on, leave it until service, assume its a sensor fault (flickering presently) or get filter drained by dealer straightaway? -
Ford Mercedes Vauxhall - Car Scrappage Scheme 15 Sep 2017 (Forum)
Interesteing article in the Sunday Times about a reader who has a 2002 Passat TDI with 180K miles which has taken him on holiday to France involving a 2000 mile trip, with no problems. Real trade in value £100 but the car has £76 of fuel in the tank. The reader has absolutely no interest in getting £2000 for his beloved car against a £22k Focus. Cant say i blame him! -

Clueless 13 Sep 2016 (Forum)
I have 2 children so the car needs to have good safety rating and reasonable boot space, isofix rear and front etc but I don't really want anything too big like a saloon or an SUV. Reasonably fuel efficient or at least not a guzzler. Budget 10k but willing to buy second hand. TIA -

Vauxhall Zafira - Fault code P1180 13 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Now the car is puffing white smoke - not continuously but enough to be noticable and a fault code of P1180 which I believe to be Fuel Delivery Malfunction. Could anyone spread some light on this? There was no smoke before it went into the garage to have the DPF done. After spending £900 on the last repair I really cannot afford another one. -
