  I have a 55 plate Tdci tourneo with all the toys, AC, heated seats, heated front and rear screens, etc. my query is what voltage should i have? at engine off i have 11.8 volts running at 1500 rpm i have 14.8 volts with everything on i have 14.08 volts any ideas?

  I have just replaced the crank speed sensor, which in itself was an ordeal and in the process of running the car warm the core plug/s have gone. Does anyone know if I can replace with the head off only, or is it an engine out job. Any help appreciated. Tony

  Hi had a moment of madness and put 0.94 litres (0.21 gallons) of petrol into my diesel. Then filled up with just under 47 litres of diesel, so under 2% petrol. Car is running ok and will top up with diesel in another 50 miles time. Hope everthing will be ok.

  We are looking to get small petrol driven car for my wife from new, thing is she is looking for a low day today running cost and and as high MPG as she can get. She drives about 60 miles a day and stick to the speed limits like a vickar's aunt. We dont want or need a diesel so what is the most efficient petrol out there?

  In the current financial climate I'm considering downsizing my car. I have a 1.4 Renault Clio Expression (56) and I'd like something less powerful and cheaper to run. No doubt others will have the same idea... What would be the best way to go about this? Sell the car myself and get something cheaper, or can you trade in for an older cheaper car and get money back?

  I generally run my cars on Shell V-Power or other high octane fuel, and have done so for many year. In almost every car i have driven, I have heard some pinking (at least I think its pinking), usually whilst driving at medium speed up a hill.

  My Avensis will stall on idle frequently through the day, but once I start driving this seems to stop. Toyota has cleaned the EGV valve but makes no difference, otherwise it runs perfect. Mechanic says its a common problem because of UK fuel. I only use SHell diesel. Anybody got any answers ? SHOUTING silenced.

  Perhaps this is a power steering problem? Any ideas or experience with this problem. Car is a 95 XSI with 170000km. Otherwise runs fine.

  Ooccasional violent shake on cold start (exhaust bangs on underside), most of time fine. Audi say engine is running lumpy, and reckon cld be EGR valve flap problem. Any thoughts, pse gents? Many thanks.

  renault kangoo 1999 1.9 diesel every now an then it seems to run on 3 cylinders aquick rev seems to clear it ive stripped down injectors and cleaned them changed all the filters it is still the same its done 71000 miles any ideas what is wrong

  hi all my renault laguna 2.2td has done 140k and just had full service but still kicks out excessive grey smoke on starting and then random huge plumes of smoke when been running for a couple of hours it starts first time every time and drives fine please help thanks

  it is "OK" in all other gears???. No slipping on the cluch The Van is a 1996 Escort 55 van, done 96,000 mile still running well. X police finger print van.

  Helo, i have a mk2 punto jtd and it was running ok today (first day iv used it ) but this evening it seems very slugish and doesnt want to rev which makes it a bit dangerous. I was wondering if there is anything i might be able to check or should i just take it for a diagnostic?

  Hi all, Does anyone know if this model/engine will be ok to run biodiesel? Other than replacing the fuel filters more regularly and after the first 100 miles or so, are there any other parts that will need replacing routinely? What ratio is recommended? Any help is appreciated, Cheers

  I have a problem with my factory fit alarm. It is running continuously after changing the alternator. The sounder is on, hazards flashing and alarm indicator light is on continuously. The car can be locked from outside with the key, but cannot be unlocked.

  Hi i have a dual fuel astra when i switch to petrol it seems to be missing on 1 but when i switch back to gas it runs nearly perfect with an occasional missfire. Any help would surely be appreciated thanks Jason

  Saab 2003 Aero, Light came on, but car is running fine. Bought a fault code reader, but reader just says Error. Could any one shed some light on this because I grieve paying a garage 80 smackers to tell me the code fault, if any. Many thanks! Neil.

• Ford Escort (1993 - 2000) - 1998 TD air mass meter 10 Mar 2008 (Forum)
  Morning all. I suspect that the air mass meter on my Escort turbo diesel is not working. I have a running issue with the car, so after a bit of research I thought I'd disconnect the meter to see if the problems I'm having changed........it didn't. In fact nothing changed at all, does this mean the the meter is working or not?
