  Turning the key produces no reaction whatsoever, not even the clonk as the starter motor engages but fails to turn. The battery is fully charged and with the headlights on turning the key does not cause them to dim. I havent had time to check anything as I am about to take my daughter to work and then go and earn a crust myself.

  The engine doesn't turn over when the key is turned. All the lights still work including main beam and the brightness seems to be okay (so not battery?). Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

END QUOTE The article refers only to US cars being recalled, but are any UK or EU ones affected? Searching Car-by-Car Breakdown cannot find anything on battery cable replacement amongst the already long list of Focus recalls, and I couldn't find anything on http://www.ford.co.uk about any product recalls at all (surprise, surprise).

  Our new car has a stop/start facility, something we've never had before. From what I've read, most people seem to say that unless the battery is at 100% this can be more trouble than it's worth. Is this true? Also, would the constant stopping and restarting of the engine not put extra stain on the mechanics and cause premature wear and tear?

  the ignition lights come on but, apart from 1 click, the engine doesnt start. up to now it started perfectly 1st time. at first when it was doing this it did connect after turning it on and off a few times (suggesting a loose connection?) but now it isnt connecting at all. the headlights are working fine...the battery is not flat. can anyone put forward any suggestions please?

  just had my car in for body work and they took off the battery terminal now i have it back but i only get a single click when i try to start it ,all the lights on the dash come on but wont turn over ..i checked the terminal and tightened them but still nothing !!

  Hello, I have a slightly upset girlfriend who had a battery replaced at KF recently and now her radio isn't working, it keeps asking for the pin number which is not in the manual anywhere. The car is an 04 Ford Fiesta and the radio serial number is M215933.

  The handbarke warning light is on constantley, the indicator relay is not clicking even thought the indicators are working, and they are not displayed on the IP neither is the full beam indicator coming on. Also the Alarm does not come on when I use the fob. I have disconnected the battery to allow the ECU to reset and the problem stays. Anyone got any advice
