  • Robotic Lawnmower of the Year shortlist (Article)
Husqvarna Automower The Automower 450X is a robot lawnmower that automatically takes care of trimming the grass. And, once set up, you can just forget about it.  It isn't cheap, but it is one that makes good financial sense for those with larger gardens. From the moment it was set up, it was faultless — and the results are impressive too.
  • Review: RAC 225 S Super HD Dash Cam (productReview)
Left to its own devices, the 225 begins recording when you start your car. Videos of events will be saved and protected automatically, if the G sensor is triggered, or you can press a lock button to protect the current recording if it’s of interest. The audible and visual speed camera warning is also useful and could save you some grief.
  • Review: Ring RBGDC50 (productReview)
It also packs a host of recording features, simplifying its use. It has motion detection and a G sensor for automatic footage capture, for starters, plus will also switch on and off automatically with the car’s ignition. It will loop footage, too, if you want it to – meaning it will simply keep overwriting recorded footage until an incident triggers a file save event.
  • Review: Nextbase Duo dash cam (productReview)
Pressing this prevents the camera from looping over the last recorded clip, so if there is an accident, or if something interesting happens on the road, you can watch the footage back later without it being automatically deleted. Should I buy one?

  • Review: Garmin VIRB 360 (productReview)
The camera records two different videos, one from each lens (offering a resolution of up to 5.7K @ 30fps depending), and automatically stitches the overlapping clips together if you select to record in any resolution up to 4K — which is high enough quality for most purposes. Up to 4k @ 30fps the video is automatically stitched and ready to be uploaded straight onto a 360-compatible platform — like YouTube or Facebook.
  • Top 10: Dash cams under £100 2020 (Article)
Despite the comparatively low price tag, the Vava is also a 1080p, 60fps HD dash cam with GPS and a G-sensor for automatic footage capture when mobile or parked. >> Read our review here Vantrue OnDash N1 The small dimensions of the N1 make it ideal if you want an unobtrusive dash cam.
  • Review: Philips VoiceTracer DVT2710 (productReview)
Compare the recordings above: We also sent the two Philips recordings above to the SpeechLive automatic speech recognition service (not compatible with the Safari web browser - Philips evidently has no time for Apple). They came back as follows, both of them exactly the same: "When strangers to love you know the rules and so do I full commitment is what I'm thinking of you and get this from any other guy."
  • Top 10: Best sat navs of 2020 (Article)
As well as being a serviceable sat nav with maps of Europe and lifetime updates, and lifetime safety camera warning updates, it also features a high-quality dash cam. The camera will capture incidents automatically and also adds lane departure and collision warning features, further increasing the Mio’s appeal. Usefully, it even comes with a 16GB memory card. A bigger, more expensive version is also available.
  • Review: Toro 56 cm PoweReverse ADS SmartStow lawnmower (productReview)
It also has a two year 'full coverage' warranty which covers the cost of parts and labour. What's not so good is the AutoMatic Drive System and PoweReverse which we found hampered its manoeuvrability. In this respect, a standard self-propelled mower is still better in our opinion. On the plus side, it gives a neat finish, the grass bag is huge and the washout port means it's easy to keep clean.
  • Review: Garmin Dash Cam Mini (productReview)
The adhesive mount is strong and works well but it's not ideal if you want to regularly use this in different vehicles.  The Mini has a parking mode which will automatically begin recording if it detects motion but this requires the dash cam to be hardwired. In the box, you get the camera, instructions and two USB cables - one 1.5 metres and the other 4 metres long.
  • Top 10: Sat nav apps (Article)
Neat touches like an automatic ‘night mode’ display add to its ease of use. Android FUEL: What are the benefits of running a vehicle on Superunleaded or Superdiesel? (FAQs)
If vehicles are driven to take best advantage of Super, which means changing up earlier (at low throttle openings a properly programmed automatic will do this for you), then the improvement in fuel economy is usually between 4% - 6%.  Where Super is sold at up to 8p more than ordinary 'Premium' fuels, the improvement in economy usually covers the increased cost.
  • Used Van Buying Guide: Volkswagen Caddy 2010-2015 16 Jun 2025 (News)
The most common 140PS version ups that torque to 320Nm, making lighter work of any load, and helping with its 1.5 tonne towing (braked trailer) capacity. The smaller 1.6-litre TDi came with either a five-speed manual or a DSG automatic, the 2.0-litre TDI gaining an extra gear in with the manual and also offered with the DSG automatic. A non-diesel Caddy was offered with a 2.0-litre natural gas four-cylinder engine with 109PS and 160Nm, but few were sold in the UK.
  • Review: Melitta Purista Series 300 (productReview)
What is it? The Purita is one of the slimmest, fully automatic bean-to-cup coffee machines on the market, ideal for those whose space is a premium in their kitchen. It offers a 'favourite coffee feature' to save your preferred coffee strength and amount, as well as a 'whisper quiet' steel cone grinder with five grinder settings.
  • Review: Vantrue OnDash N1 Pro dash cam (productReview)
Other features include a 24-hour parking mode, although you need to hardwire it to the car battery for this to work, collision detection when turned off, a G-sensor which will automatically save and lock any footage following a collision or any sudden movements, such as swerving or hard braking. Interestingly it also has a time-lapse function, where  the camera will automatically take photos at specified intervals and edit them together into a video clip, like the Garmin 55 dash cam we reviewed.

A neat removable control panel makes it easy to programme, too, and once configured it’s otherwise fully automatic. • DIESEL v PETROL: Which is better for me?   (FAQs)
Over 2007/08 diesel fuel in the UK became about 10% more expensive to buy than petrol, but regained parity on 2009. Diesel automatics can lose a lot of the economy advantage due to torque converter losses. Diesels may reduce fuel bills, but diesels built since Year 2000 can double and even quadruple the bills for everything else.
  • Used Buying Guide: Volkswagen Amarok 2011-2019 16 Jun 2025 (News)
That additional power was complimented with Volkswagen's BlueMotion technology, which saw the new, more powerful engine able to offer better emissions and economy by utilising engine start/stop technology and lower rolling resistance tyres. At the same time Volkswagen added the option of an eight-speed automatic transmission. The more powerful engine allowed the Amarok to increase its towing capacity, from 2800kg to 3000kg, the automatic gaining a further 200kg towing limit for a 3200kg maximum. The Amarok would continue with the range of four-cylinder engines until Volkswagen replaced them with a 3.0-litre V6 as part of its 2016 model year revisions.
