  I'm very diligent about checking my lights are off and stuff whenever I leave the car, but a dead battery was still my first idea. Got a mechanic cousin to take a look at it... And then come back, and keep looking.  We installed a new battery. The engine would start wheezing, but ultimately wouldn't start.

  [endif]--> I have a Peugeot 306 1995 model (I assume therefore it has an Infra red Phase 1 remote).   I left the lights on and the car battery went flat over night.   I have now charged the battery and the alarm is now set permanently on i.e. if you open a door the alarm triggers and resets after about 20 seconds back to standby only to trigger again if you oven the door or move around within the car.
• Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 00 2.0 HDi Aux Belt Removed, Cannot Start! 23 Nov 2009 (Forum)
  I decided the aux belt may be harming the crankshaft pulley bearing by rubbing the timing belt cover and hence adding excess pressure so I cut it off. Car still didn't start - but now I guessed the battery was pretty dead. I charged the battery overnight - but still no joy! Am I missing something - as far as I can tell, theres nothing powered from the aux belt that should stop the car starting (Alternator, Air con, power steering is all?)

  Problem: No power, no lights, no ignition, Clifford alarm de-activated, no electronic/electical signs of life at all. Tested battery and alternator. Both OK, in fact the battery is only a month old anyway as it was replaced when car had a previous start up problem. It's as if the power is not getting from the battery to the car engine management system (assuming Saxo's have one?).

  I had to call out the AA. The AA man stated that "nothing ever goes wrong with Toyotas - it must be a flat battery". I then remembered that I had used my headlights as it was dark and rainy on the morning drive to work and as I was a little late dashed out of the car the moment I got to the car park. The car started instantly with the AA booster battery.

  Now I have 4 questions 1) can anyone describe to me which connector under the fuse box and which position the yellow wire goes in ? 2) would the fact that the battery is very low make the alarm go off when you try to start it )the old starter clicking sounn - like a ratchet?). If I charge the battery will it all be OK 3) can anyone help with the key to turn off the alarm system under the bonnet?

    Left it like that for a while so its not timed.   Can I disable that function  as obvs , it would run the battery down

  Disconnected the battery on my Fiesta to remove and clean the screen wash reservoir. Now need a code to get the stereo working again. Can anyone tell me where I find the serial number for the stereo so II can find out what the key code is?

  Read about rotating the remotes on HJ post which reminded me that I had not done so for sometime. Remote is stone dead - I need a new battery but how can the key be "revived" or is it a case of paying the Honda garage to re-programmme the fob?

  Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with my predicament? I had to replace the battery in my fiancées fiesta and found out afterwards that she doesn't have the code to reset it. Would anybody know of a code to reset the radio or where I would have to go/ask? The serial number is M185469.

  My son accidentally left bathe lights on my car and drained the battery. He jump started it and though the car runs fine , the speedometer, Rev counter and powers tearing are not working, any idea what the problem might be and could it be serious and therefore costly?
