  Surely the Government need to get real. Encouraging people to switch to petrol cars and then  introduce fuel that can potentially ruin engines.   Hi all    I am in the process of buying a Golf TDI and wondered what is recommended, other than good distance runs at speed such as motorway journeys,in order to keep it in good working form and avoid costly repairs? Specialst fuels/cleaning additives? Anything really?

  Saw one today at Sheffield train station. Surely THE most inappropriate car in Britain? Anyone know its fuel consumption, GPM? Looks rather mean though, don't think I'd like it to be behind me on motorways as it's massive and also its headlights appeared to be far too high. Althougher amazed by the size of it, not a chance of parking in one bay...

  For three adult one 14 yearold and two under 5's it came to nearly  £400. It wouldn't even cost 1/4 of that in fuel. How can they justify the price of train travel and expect you to not use the car if the cost is so prohibitively expensive.

   diesel very hard to start and cuts out when running ( actually moving) had to a garage today and they said it is an electrical problem and i need an auto electrician, fuel does come out of injectors. will this be an expensive job, what do you think it is thats wrong

  Because it may eliminate my rattling sound, which sounds like pinking, but suspect I am not getting enough fuel through at the time and the ECU might need to re-learn something? But is it sufisticated enough to do this?

  A3(M) was closed yesterday afternoon/evening due to a broken down lorry and fuel spillage and at midnight the workman were out resurfacing the road. So, what does diesel do to a road surface requiring it to be relaid? Does it dissolve it? Is it absorbed into the surface with the risk of it floating to the surface when it rains?

  Is it possible to tell if a previous owner of a car has mistakenly refuelled a car (in this case a Mercedes) with petrol instead of diesel? If they have, are there any symptoms in the car's behaviour that might show eg reduced fuel consumption? Appreciate your thoughts

  Hi just recently got a Nissan primera 2003 (2.0) and it says in the manual and on the fuel filler lid to use Unleaded Petrol wih a Octane rating of at least 95 RON. What would happen if i use normal unleaded? And info and advice welcome. Thanks

  Thirty miles later after much needed supermarket shop, car starts then immediately cuts out. Many tries later it'll start but so frustrating. Seems like no fuel getting through . Battery has been checked and is fine.  advice appreciated. Cheers

  at 1200 revs this noise sounds from under the bonnet/engine compartment, just sounds like a valve openning or a relay kicking in, no disruption to the running of the car, fuel economy perfect, approx 15 miles per hour, any ideas guys.

  This is mentioned in FAQ but the link to the supermarket website is defunct. So, have any more manufacturers (especially VW Group) given ther "approval" to this blended bio fuel? It is hinted elsewhere that some 100% biofuels are OK but why the problem with the 30% blend? All diesels are a 5% blend now anyway by EU edict AFAIK.

  Hi, my display that shows how many miles still to go on my fuel has reverted to KM. I have not found a way to change this back to Miles. Any idea how this can be done? Thanks!
