  The car is mostly used for two, 10 or 15 minute runs in the morning and evening. The prime suspect is the starter motor?s solenoid or contacts. The battery (at least 2 years old) seems to be well charged; it operates the electric windows for example, with no sign of the sluggishness you might expect of a defective battery. The voltage starts at 12.6V, drops to about 12.2V on switching on the ignition and drops to 10.6V when turning the engine over; the intermittent fault vanishes as soon as you get the multi-meter out, of course.

  After a battery change the car requires a code to work, ive tried a generator recomended to me but it produces a code with an 8 in it and my radio only goes from 1-6. Serial No. M014897. Help is greatly appreciated.

  Hi my sons 206 won’t start. Prob not battery as is turning over just engine wont ignite. He hadn’t used it for a while (learner) and didn’t turn it over through the recent cold snap. Any ideas? Could it be the spark plugs?

  Hi, can you help me?  I've replaced the battery on my car this week and need to input the radio code.  I found a key code and serial number in the manual folder.  Serial number V005572.  but when I input the code the display states that the code is incorrect.

  After the central locking stopped working on my A4 I reset the key after changing the fob battery. Now the dashboard displays are clearer and brighter. Is there anything in the fob that connects to the ECUwhich may affect this brought about yhe improvement?
