Toyota Yaris - Best fuel grade to use... 4 Apr 2022 (Forum)
I've looked at a few websites and Wikipedia and still confused... On the Vios it specified 91 on the fuel cap and seemed to run well on that. -
Citroen jumpy - 2011 citroen jumpy 2.0 ltr diesel won’t start 22 Feb 2021 (Forum)
The first code says IDM imputcircuit malfuction/ ignition coil control circuit high voltage, the second pump rotor control underfueling. I have changed the fuel filter and the high fuel pump pressure regulator. In the fuse box are two fuses for the fuelpump which is in the fuel tank, only checking the parts manual according the VIN there is no fuel pump in the tank. -
Ford Focus - Ford Focus TDDi cut out and won't re start 19 Jul 2017 (Forum)
Pull over, get the AA out (car won't restart) he says he's had to pull a load of air out of the fuel line, once this is done he can see fuel coming to the injectors but car still won't restart. I don't want to spend a fortune on garage diagnostics etc as the car is old and not worth spending more than £300 on really, i basically am wondering if it's likley that there is still air in the system (maybe the sudden overtake movement moved fuel and air about) and that i should just change filters and bleed or if it's likely the dreaded high pressure fuel pump has failed? -
peugeot 106 1.1 1997 - Gluing to plastic petrol tank 4 Apr 2017 (Forum)
I asked at Peugeot , and the clips are part of the fuel tank ...so it's a replacement fuel tank, otherwise.. Dunno, if it is a MOT fail as is, with the cable ties...? Cheers Liam -
Audi Cabriolet 2.6 V6 final edition 1999 - Instrument Panel 8 Aug 2015 (Forum)
ECU say there may be a connection issue, and with the fuel gauge, it can be adjusted with the short knob by the side, IE fill the tank and turn the knob to adjust the fuel needle. Any thoughts please, while I am waiting for the cluster to be returned?. -
Ford Fiesta Saloon 1.2 zeetec petrol reg 2000 - Will a small exhaust hole affect fuel consumption 23 Mar 2015 (Forum)
I am seeking opinions please , a relative has a Ford Fiesta reg 2000, 1.25 zeetec petrol engine, over several months the fuel consumption has crept up or increased. I know short journeys and cold weather ruin fuel consumption but over the last few tankfulls it has been as low as 24 mpg average, previous winters were 28/30 mpg. -
Ford Focus - Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI starting issues 12 Mar 2015 (Forum)
Every now and then the car now takes 5 or 6 seconds to fire up. Same as before, turning over but like a lack of fuel getting to the engine. After persistance it does start and goes fine. Normally this will happen first thing in the morning. Can anyone advise what it could be? Fuel pump, fuel injector etc. Spent £400 on the car already and would like to try keep costs to a minimal. -
Expensive day - easy money 15 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Driving to work this morning I noticed I'd forgotten to top with fuel. Within a couple of miles of joining the A14 the low fuel level warning light came on. Not really being certain of how much fuel was left, I reluctantly decided to stop on A14 and pay A14 price. The pumps closest to the entrance were free, just unleaded and super unleaded. -
Mercedes Vito van - Contaminated fuel 29 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Dear Technical team. I have had a major issue with some fuel I purchased just before Christmas. The end result was my Vito van was in the garage for a month ( only work vehicle my business has) and a bill for £3660. Initially the garage thought it was a problem with the injectors but after replacing them and having the same problem they had to go back step by step and discovered the entire tank was full of contaminated fuel. -

I need a second hand 4x4 13 Nov 2011 (Ask HJ)
I work as a ghillie and drive down a wee bit of a rough track each day. I need a 4x4, question is which one(second hand)? I also want good fuel consumption... -
VW 1.4 TSi GOLF - Fuel related misfire 21 Oct 2011 (Forum)
With a key on key off it will recover until the next time you boot it. The last fault code reported was low fuel pressure. Now, the fault seems to be dependent on the amount of fuel in the tank and the type of fuel. This is brand not octane rating! BP is the best, Tesco is worst, but both are super. -
Vauxhall Omega - Do I Need to Bleed the Fuel System on Omgea Diesel 28 Aug 2010 (Forum)
--[endif]--> Hi Can anyone help me, I’ve just replaced the glow plugs on my Vauxhall Omega because it was getting difficult to start and found 4 out of the six plugs opened circuited. I decided to replace the fuel return pipes (leak off pipes) ie the ones which are daisy chain linked to each injector and also the one which goes back to the fuel injector pump. The problem I have now is I can’t get the car to run at all, am I right in assuming I need to bleed the system even if it’s only the fuel return pipes that were replaced. -

ford fiesta - trying to cut out ? 23 Jul 2010 (Forum)
hi, i have a fiesta 1.4 petrol(2004) and it has developed an a anoying problem, while driving it has an intermitting problem of pulling back as if it was running short of petrol, then it will suddenly shoot forward, somtimes it has got so slow that i have had to pull over wait for a while and restart, i have had it to the garage several times with no joy. so far it has been on the dynostics m/ch no fault found, fuel cleaned out and new fuel filter, renewed core plugs, checked for water leaking onto electrics water-washer ect, new ht leads, air filter, oil and filter, tried leaving fuel filler cap slack as there is a vacume build up, sometimes it does seem to run ok, but when i do get the pulling back fault things i have noticed it does nt matter on the weather dry or wet, seems to happen when fuel is low ie 1st to 2nd mark, i,m starting to wonder if it could be a faulty fuel pump? -
Motorbikes / Scooters Fuel Consumption 19 May 2008 (Forum)
I would have thought this would be a boom time for scooter sellers, fuel costs rocketing, summer weather in, lots of people maybe to be persuaded to switch over? Certainly something I would maybe consider if the information was available! -
Mondeo ST TDCi - fuel system emergency! 3 Nov 2006 (Forum)
My wife's 2005 Mondeo ST TDCi 2.2 broke down on friday in the pouring rain. Only just 10,000 miles on the clock. I thought it was the fuel pump as did the AA man. Today the Ford dealer has called to say that water contamination in the diesel has caused the fuel pump to break down and pass metal filings into the fuel system. The implication is that the diesel she filled up with 200 miles ago, contained water (no mention of a larger problem caused by the monsoon-like weather here last week). -
BP Ultimate fueling Error 2 Dec 2005 (Forum)
I finally succumbed to the marketing blurb and pulled my A6 TDI 2.5 Quattro alongside the BP Ultimate fuel pumps, 14 litres into the transaction I smelt petrol! The first time in 19 years of driving had I made the mistake of mixing fuels. A tow, £200 later and two days later I was refueled with the correct diesel grade and on my way, then I began chatting to friends etc. it seems there is a growing army of poor unfortunates like myself that have made an error at the BP Ultimate pump. -

Citroen Berlingo 1.6 hdi - Fuel rail pressure low- fault code P1113 28 Feb 2019 (Forum)
After that he put another new fuel filter on, just in case other one was faulty. Still no luck so today he fitted a new fuel pressure regulator (i think thats what it's called) No joy! He thinks there is air getting into the system, as he replaced a bit of the fuel pipe with a clear piece and after every engine run you can see some air come through the pipe when you bleed it with the hand primer pump.
