  I have noticed at between 75 - 80mph that my car has developed a vibration which is felt through the floor and the seat of my pants. When it dips under 75 it runs smoothly. The car has done 89000 miles.

  hi all, my sidelights work on my 1996 1.25 fiesta, but the headlamps dont, they used to just fine, where are the fuses for the headlamps, and do they run off the same fuse as the sidelights? if they do then it not the fuse i guess, what else could it be? cheers

  Be very careful these cold frosty mornings if you are in the habit of starting your car on the drive to warm up,and then go back in to finish your breakfast.My neighbours Golf went walkabout at 8am today and has probably being broken up (leather seats,alloys etc).I guess the insurance will decline to pay,keys left in car,running,unattended etc.

  I am getting reluctant to visit this site. It seems to tie my CPU up at almost 100% and slow my computer right down. I am running latest Firefox with popup blocker on and Flash disabled. I am not a computer expert - what is going on and how can I fix it?

  Just been looking at one of these s/h - very nice and not expensive s/h. Anyone any views on running these long-term/high mileage - since it's not even a PD engine, a better high-mileage engine?

  My AC needs regassing at some point but when I switch it on at present there is a rattling noise coming from the compressor. Is this due to the refrigerant being low? I dont plan to run the AC until it is gassed to prevent damage.

  Hi all, my Dad's 51 reg CRV is leaking water behind the glovebox when the AC is running. AC is nice and cool and no water is being dripped onto the ground. Anyone know where the tube is?? Cheers, James

  OK, Enfield Fred's treated us to the ' longest ' Now , any ideas about the shortest engine run. I have one in mind but I'll save it until we've got a few in. I don't mean a one off special fitted with a Proteus, but something you could drive up the High Street in and do the shopping. Ted

  Hello, Seems Costco are doing their usual time-limited offer. I know it is still running this weekend at the Chester branch, but for how long I know not. Seems a decent offer, had a look around other sites but cannot see anyone able to match prices on that particular tyre(Michelin Energy Saver).

  Thinking about 'chipping' the Golf GT TDi. (The 2 litre PD) Bit leggy now at 82K but running perfectly. I'm not looking for massive gains maybe up to 170 brake, but I don't want to be leaving huge clouds of black smoke. If that's the outcome then I definitely won't bother. Anyone got any experience and able to recommend a product?

  hi,my wife and son have both noticed a 'rattle' coming from the front of the engine.i run the engine and when i accelerated the 'rattle' increased,as well.i'm thinking it could be the tappets.help anyone!!

  Hi there.i am just about to retire (52),and i am looking for something to put a smile on my face,be reliable ,possibly carry my golf clubs,and reasonable running costs.i have had classic cars in the past,and i like the idea of no road tax and cheap insurance,but i am still not sure.Any commnts would be greatly received.

  I have noticed that when the engine running and the lights are all off, the odometer has started to glow & flicker. Though you cannot see any digits. Is this the start of its decline or a lose earth?

  The rear washer on my Golf iv has stopped squirting,the front one works fine and i can hear the pump running when tryimg to get the rear one washing. Any suggestions for the most probable causes. Many thanks.

  Hi all, had my S60 2 weeks now and wondered if the yellow lights next to the headlights should flash with indicators, as they just seem to be on all the time with the running lights and i dont see the point unless they act as indicators, thanks.

  When accelerating, there's a rather rorty noise, seemingly from the nearside front of the engine compartment (I have only heard this from inside the vehicle), as if of a blowing exhaust. The exhaust pipe is OK, however. Any ideas what it might be? It does not happen on the over-run. {Subject header expanded to make less vague - DD}

  My 1998 1.4 has developed a squeak as the clutch pedal is depressed, not related to the engine running. It feels fine and is not slipping when driven. Its only really noticeable when stopped. Should I just ignore it? Slight change to subject line to help a potential helper - PU
