  The car starts ok I drive about four hundred yards and the car lacks power throttle is air wire then about ten seconds later the car is normal and will run most of the time with out problem I now have management light on went to garage he said it was intermittent on number one cylinder and fitted new coil but after a short run it was just the same as anyone had this problem

  Why don't manufacturers use the engine management system of diesel cars to alert the driver when DPF regeneration is in progress,with a message advising that the engine should be kept running until it is completed? Similarly, when a turbo has been running under heavy load, the EMS could intervene to prevent the driver switching the engine off until it's had a chance to cool off. With all the advanced technology in modern cars, why can't they act to protect the engine from driver misuse?

  A 4x4 being towed whilst all wheels are in road contact is surely the same as coasting, the only difference is, when coasting, up to lights, etc, the engine will be running. Does that negate any malfunction with the running gear?  Thanks in anticipation.   BeeJay

  My qashqai starts from cold runs 10 seconds then cuts out, leave it 15 minutes try again it will start again. Sometimes it is possible to get it to accelerate up beyond the cutout and then it will run all day. it started 7 days ago and is getting worse.

  Car runs perfect when heater is turned to hot. Car boils up when heater turned to cold return to hot and car runs perfect again. Head gasket checked all ok. Heater blows hot and cold air. All pipes feel right.

  Hi My 2000 Espace will only run cleanly once the air temperature on the dash shows 8 degrees or more. It always starts fine but misfires badly below this temp. Once above 8 degrees it runs fine. I'm guessing an engine management fault but would like to replace the sensor first if only I could find it!

  The problem I have is when I start the vehicle as soon as I let go of the key there is a clunking sound from the engine, it stops as soon as engine starts running....The engine runs fine. Any ideas would be appreciated.   Could it be the engine mounts, there is only 20k miles on the clock

  A few days ago I noticed that the radiator fan was running whenever I started the car - is that normal? It was a frosty morning. Yesterday I noticed that it took approx 20 miles for the temp gauge to come up to usual running temp -  needle almost vertical, moving erratically on the way.

  I've a 2006 Seat Ibiza Stylance, 1390CC Petrol, 5DR, Manual which has a slow coolant leak. Loses about 750ml after a 3 or 4 short runs 3-4 miles or after a long run > 30 miles. Can't see any puddles or any visible wet patches. It's done about 45,000 miles. Any suggestions as to how to locate the problem?

  It appears as though there are plugs for fog lights to be fitted. If I got lights and a new headlight stalk that has the fog switch would they run on the existing loom or am I going to have to run my own wires and switches etc. Thank you.

  I have a 530D saloon with 90,000 on the clock. Just recently it has started to feel lumpy at tickover, but only on occasions. It runs fine under power, but when stopped and idling feels like it is running on 5 Cyls instead of 6 - can anyone help???
