My dash odometer/fuel economy/outside temperature display unit started cycling rapidly through the options too fast to read any of it. So I disconnected the battery and it reset for a while but now the radio unlock code won't enter and I can't reset the clock. Any ideas?

  • Is your proposed route jammed? 8 Nov 2007 (Forum)
This, for example, is the situation right now at Junction 37 (Barnsley) on M1 looking north and showing the long slip roads: tinyurl.com/3bqxa7 Locate the Jamcam you want by entering 'Jamcam' in Google or, better still, via your local BBC radio station web site. Enjoy!
  • Toyota Previa (1990 - 2000) - Electrical problems - 1990 2.4 petrol 22 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Previa was fine yesterday but today I noticed the central locking didn't work, further investigation showed the radio, interior lights and ciggy lighter all don't work. Checked all the fuses and they're ok - relay somewhere perhaps?
  • daft things you do in the car 23 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I think it was one of the Radio 1 DJ's that had a slot that included the silly things you did in the car. For example, there was one chap that wouldn't allow himself to breathe when he drove through the Blackwall Tunnel & got quite ratty if he was foiled.
  • Saab/Volvo/Nissan, Less reliable? 27 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Was pondering this on the way to work this morning (radio was boring me!). Are the likes of Saab/Volvo and Nissan less reliable than they were before being swallowed up by the big fish? They have always been a challenger brand and stood for quality and reliability and went on forever.
  • On-Street Garages 5 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I've nothing against someone trying to make an honest living but he's taking up the few parking spaces there are. I heard something on the radio about it being illegal to sell two cars on the road within 500m of each other. Is this correct and who should I report him to, the police or the council?
  • peugeot 406 instrument bulbs 24 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I suspect one of the instrument bulbs has failed in my 2001 406 radio / CD / RDS / outside temp / computer trip display (the standard one, not the SatNav one), the left hand side being "darker" than the right all of a sudden. Any help how to remove panel / get at bulbs / change them?
  • The Faster Pastor 24 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Did anyone hear the interview with The Faster Pastor on Radio 5 last night. He is a clergyman who has 3 Motorcycles with sidecars modified to take Coffins. One is a Harley(Growler please note), the other a Suzuki and the other ???? Apparently some Bikers request in their will a blast(pun intended) up a motorway on their way to the crematorium or burial.

  • Commuting distance 30 Jun 2004 (Forum)
I heard on the radio the other day someone saying we should all be encouraged to live near where we work, and not indulge in a long commute. Out of interest, how many miles do those BRs in work regularly commute? I do a 62-mile round trip.
  • singing and dancing phones 24 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Buying a new car soon and want to install a phone, hands free, voice activated, mutes radio when calls arrive and plays thru car speakers etc. Money no object. What do I tell the dealer or is it only a few luxury cars that can cope with this stuff. Was thinking of a BMW but I don't know enough about their system.
  • A4 Tdi 130droning noise at 2050 rpm 28 Jan 2004 (Forum)
A4 Avant Tdi 130 (1993 model) - making a droning noise specifically at 2050 revs no matter which gear it's in (noise disappears if either side of this rpm). Noise is not inside car, probably from underneath and is reasonably noticeable even above radio noise. Apppreciate any help, thanks.
  • M6 J18 - 19 & M62 J8 2 Aug 2001 (Forum)
I have just heard on the radio that the roadworks on the M6 have now been completed. I expect that the cameras that were there, will now be moved to the M62 very soon, so be careful. Jonathan PS I also heard that some major police bod, is pushing for speed cameras to be brightly coloured and not hidden.
  • N/A - It Snowed 16 Jan 2021 (Forum)
However I was totally staggered this morning. Hertfordshire has its first dusting of snow in a while. Then on local radio we get reports of numerous minor accidents and the M1 southbound closed around J6/5. Whats so hard about driving to suit the conditions?
