Omega MV6 hesitation on acceleration 5 Mar 2003 (Forum)
replaced with a new one by Vauxhalls - but problem has crept back recently. There are no strange lights on the warning systems, no diagnostics come up when she?s serviced. (Does anyone know if these diagnostics are connected on ex-Police MV6s?). She?s serviced as recommended (I like to feel comfortable that my car will go, steer & stop) including spark plugs. -
french car makers on the run 31 Jan 2003 (Forum)
this is interesting because they usually rate french cars higher other make?s during tests/comparisons (that?s national pride getting in the way of objectivity). however the involvement of "auto plus" was a major factor in getting renault to recall 500 000 1.9 dti vehicles. cheers mike1 (peugeot 205 grd @278 000 kms) -

Likelihood of car being written off on no-claim 10 Feb 2021 (Forum)
I have informed my insurers of the incident, but not made a claim I’m afraid if my insurers come to inspect my car they may try to write it off as a category S. I do not think the damage is significant, but there is a small dent in the fender and the gap between the fender and the hood is very slightly larger than the other side. I have read accounts of cars being written-off/put in category S for seemingly minor things, so am a bit worried. -

Ford Galaxy - Leg/stomach room 29 Jun 2019 (Forum)
Anyway, could somebody recommend a car that has really good distance from the back of the seat to the bottom of the steering wheel? I've mentioned the Galaxy but also considering something like a grand c4 picasso, c-max, s-max etc. I did think a range rover or discovery would be a good bet but they're actually awful! Also tried a VW transporter and a transit Due to a spinal injury the car also needs to be pretty high to avoid bending too much, again the s-max would seem to fit the bill but I suppose i could look at a flat bottomed steering wheel which would help a bit but i was thought about what really tall people do? -
MPV diesel engines to avoid? 6 Mar 2019 (Forum)
The one I am liking the most overall is the S-Max so if you only have time for a brief comment I would love some opinions on the TDCI lineup and how to tell the PSA derived from Ford's own. All other comments welcome. I can maintain and repair my cars for most things not requiring a lift and a crew and I am not crazy about having huge BHP on tap as long as I can move when needed. -

Focus MK1 1.6 Auto - Focus Auto noise/vibration. 1 Dec 2014 (Forum)
The other day whilst reversing up a slight incline there wasa sort of sharp clicking noise at the front N/S. Iwas outside and saw the front wheel jerk. Today, my missus was driving it to work and it startied vibrating badly, so she stopped, put it in reverse, then back into Drive and it drove off normally. -
Citroen C1 - Cat C - any way to ascertain the damage? 10 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Hi all I have seen a 2012 Citroen C1 which is Cat C. The owner states he carried out the repairs (new o/s rear door & repair to o/s rear wheel arch). He has the VIC. I asked if he had any pictires of the damage - he says no. So I wondered is it possible to find out what damage the car sustained? -

Luton or Dagenham? Ford or Vauxhall?? 1 Mar 2014 (Forum)
Cool in your Cavalier or ecstatic in your Escort, we could go on and on unlike most of the cars of the 60's & 70's. It would seem the loyalty shown to both brands was indeed very strong and where car making no longer occurs at Dagenham loyalty to the blue oval carries on and if course as a centre of excellence in diesel engine technology Dagenham lives on in the current diesel range of cars. -

VW Golf MK5 DSG Estate - VW Golf MK5 DSG High Rev's on Some Gear Changes 6 Aug 2013 (Forum)
I also have paddle shift, if I force a change in 3rd at 2000 rpm into 4th it changes no problem and holds there until it goes back into auto mode and then it reverts back to 3rd gear again and will hold until 2300ish rpm. In sport 'S' mode the change happens from 3rd to 4th at about 2500 rpm so much higher so no issue about either me or the car being in 'S' by mistake. This is really annoying as it only happens occasionally. -

Fiat Panda Multijet 2006 - Suitable fault code reader 3 Jan 2013 (Forum)
However, an old f*** like me grappling with modern automotive electronics would be like a chimpanzee trying to do brain surgery. On the 60's and 70's vehicles I was brought up on, the most complex electronic component was an SU fuel pump. But the need for fuel economy and the fact that all the old cars are worn out has forced us to buy a modern one. -
