'P' Reg Renault Laguna (2ltr Automatic) - Leaving work in heavy rain, switched on lights, fan and radio, central locking working fine, wipers, internal and external lights all fine... after about a hundred yards the fuel gauge dropped to 'nil' even though I have about half a tank on board. I checked the fuse panel and cant see a fuse that refers to the fuel gauge. As far as I can tell everything else is working fine...

  • Nissan Qashqai (2007 - ) - Petrol v Diesel - fuel consumption/CO2 discrepancy 14 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Not only does it seem odd that a diesel engine of the same size as the petrol verison emits more CO2, but to manage that whilst demonstrating better fuel consumption seems contradcitory. Am I missing something here?
  • Fuel warning light - how much left? 16 Jun 2009 (Forum)

  • Land Rover Defender (1946 - ) - 1989 2.5 fuel related loss of power & over running 4 May 2009 (Forum)
hi everyone, i have just had an expensive recovery of my 110 station wagon, with what appears to be fuel delivery problem, the engine ticks over fine, and was driving ok, apart from a slight overrun on revs when i lifted off the gass, then when put under load ie, joining the a1, the power seemed to diminish, then appear again, then ground to a halt, but crucially, started again, and ticked over fine, with the odd fluctuation in engine revs , however would not perform under load. turbo or fuel?????
  • Mazda Mazda 2 (2007 - ) - Fuel capacity 15 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I have had my new Mazda 2, 1.3 TS2 since Sept 1st and it has already covered over 800 very enjoyable miles. My only issue so far is knowing how much fuel is left in the tank when the low fuel warning activates. The manual just says fill up as soon as possible but it would be nice to know how much is in reserve. The last time I filled up, the display was on one bar and I only managed to squeeze around 30 litres in.
  • Volkswagen Passat (1997 - 2000) - Can a 97 TDI run on bio-fuel or veg oil? 22 Aug 2008 (Forum)
I've informed a friend about the change in fuel tax laws, where alternative fuels attract no Excise Duty so long as you use less than 2,500 litres a year - enough for about 17,600 miles. He's just bought a nice 1997 Passat 1.9TDI (90bhp) version and would like to know whether it can be run on veg oil, or veg-oil/diesel mix?
  • Vauxhall Corsa B (1993 - 2000) - 96 1.2 cutting out after running out of fuel 4 Aug 2008 (Forum)
I've changed the fuel filter so far, and given it a shot of injector cleaner, but they've had no real impact. I'm wary of investigating further. Your thoughts/ideas, please!
  • Fuel costs & surrounding debates Vol 3 [Read only] 31 May 2008 (Forum)
I just heard Roger King of The Road Haulage Association asking for an "essential users fuel rebate" on the BBC news. Two Questions 1) If trucks came into that category for less tax on fuel as essential users, what are the implications for the `ordinary motorist` when it seems a vast raft of other (newly defined)`essential users` would then fall into that category.
