golf rear wiper 29 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I have a Golf MK.IV 2.0. The rear wiper suddenly stopped this morning. When the wiper stops the motor is still running as you can hear it, the wiper will also carry on moving if you just nudge it. Does anyone know what can cause this and is it an easy fix. -
Shell Optimax 24 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I have read that it is in the backroom archive pages, but there is no mention of this on the Shell pumps or at the Shell web site. My car seems to run better on Optimax but then stays that way for a tank or two when I fill (from empty!) with 95 ron fuel. -
Bi Fuel Ford Focus 23 Aug 2002 (Forum)
I own a factory produced bi fuel ford focus. It runs rough at low revs and after gear changes. Is this the engine management computer fighting over the petrol/lpg systems? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks 23/8/02 -
The budget 14 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Here goes... 2p on unleaded 3p on diesel VAT up to 19% - which adds yet more your fuel and your purchase / running costs. Road Fund licences up 10%. All "to fund the NHS" which now spends something like 55% of it's revenues on administration. -
Lambda Sensor 7 Mar 2002 (Forum)
If so, how does it detect it? I thought it detected oxygen, not hydrocarbons. Also, if it packs up, then engine can still run, so how does it tell the ecu to shut down firing? -

Would anyone having first hand experience of using one of the above, please give me a run down on their use and good or bad points please ? Reply direct if you wish, all relevent replies welcome. Thank you. -
TR6 10 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Got a friend who has a low mileage TR6 (I think about 25k) that has been in his garage for 10-12 years. In order to get it up and running again what is the best course of action to go down - or should some pros come in. Also would it be worth doing up? -

Vectra 2.2 17 Jan 2002 (Forum)
EQDSO is driving one at the moment, and it seems that despite the fact that it is supposed to measure outside temperature, the displayed temperature decreases after the aircon has been running for a while. I've had a look about, but I can't find anything. -

Air Con - Another Question 7 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Thank you for all the replies to my previous question. A final thought, if you need to run your air con all the time to keep it working properly and avoid expensive repairs, why do manufactures provide you with the facility to switch it off? -
More High Mileage Questions 20 Oct 2001 (Forum)
With mega high mileage (125,000+miles), 3-4 year old ex-fleet cars worth very little at auction. What would people pick as the most likely to run for a further 3 years & 50,000 miles without major expense? -

An aquaintance overseas with an Opel Vectra has had a stalling problem. Dealer originally changed slow running valve plus installed a filter to stop oil getting in it but no avail. Now he appears to have changed the oil pickup pipe problem appears cured, any thoughts? -
Petrol Additives 2 Feb 2001 (Forum)
Also, Is it worth using a detergent??? Honest John says about the 420: "T16 2.0 litre engine apt to coke up its valves if run on cheap petrol with inadequate detergent content". Cheers, Chris -
Tesla - Do EV batteries explode in a collision? 2 Aug 2023 (Forum)
After few minutes the fire get larger and popping sounds are heard, then all hell brake loose. Multiple explosions some are fairly big with white smoke and flames while everyone is running for cover. Is it possible for the batteries to actually explode? I thought EV batteries can catch fire and can't be put down due to the chemical run off but wasn't aware of actual explosions involved. -
Land Rover Discovery Sport - Disco Sport v older X5 1 Jan 2023 (Forum)
In short, I have a 2015 2L Disco Sport HSE Luxury - pan roof, white leather, all black wheels, paddle gears, step/running boards, top spec blah blah 75k fsh. But…after two/three years happy motoring the dreaded electrics have started playing up. It’s like a light show on the dash. Still runs great, and due to go in to Jaguar to resolve. -
What to do with car for three months? 16 May 2022 (Forum)
Advantage being it could be SORN and maybe there'd be a small insurance saving. - Have my son pop round occasionally to start it up and let it run for a while. SORN and insurance still apply. - Have him added to the insurance and he take it for a spin occasionally. Cost unknown. Not sure how close to a socket the car will be, so a trickle charger may or may not be an option. -
Kia Soul - kia soul 11 Oct 2021 (Forum)

Ford Galaxy - Needing advice on buying a banger 22 Sep 2021 (Forum)
The silver lining of the crazy used car market at the moment means I'm now in around £1500 equity. Just had our third kid, and both my wife and I run our own businesses. So our thinking is this; Buy a banger of a 7 seater, and a decent city car (Mii/citigo/up etc). Looking for your thoughts on this - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202109117264775? -
Peugeot 307 SW - Bought a trade car with no V5C 13 May 2021 (Forum)
Hi A friend has just bought a car privately from someone who works in the motor trade who was running the car himself and he in turn appears to have bought the car from a friend who is another dealer as a trade car and has been running it as such (i.e. he never bothered to get the V5C). So the problem is there is no V5C with the car and obviously my friend is obviously trying to get the thing registered in his name.
