With 71,778 miles recorded, the van is supplied with its original owners’ handbook, an MoT certificate until 9 June, 2018, and letters in the history file from the BBC which confirm its authenticity.

We’re told that all the electrics work (lights, indicators, radio, fans, wipers). Only the horn didn’t work so that’s been re-routed and is on a separate button under the dash. The best bit is the interior, which doesn’t need much apart from a decent valet and the odd cigarette burn repairing.

  The final tickets for CarFest – summer’s fast and furious fun-fuelled family festivals – are about to go on sale. Chris Evans, BBC Radio 2 DJ and the inspiration behind the two motoring and music-themed extravaganzas, will release the last batch at 8am tomorrow (Thursday, 30 April) morning during his award-winning Breakfast Show. Evans again will host for both events – CarFest North (Oulton Park, Cheshire, 31 July-2 August) and CarFest South (Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, 28-30 August) – with the promise of music and motors… plus some tasty festival food and eye-catching family fun thrown in for good measure.

  Classic car and bike insurance broker Carole Nash has thrown its full support behind National Classic Car and Bike Day by providing policy holders with commuter cover as standard.  The day is a brainchild of BBC Radio 2 Breakfast DJ Chris Evans, who recently announced that Friday 4 April 2014 will be the first National Classic Car and Bike Day - and is calling for owners to offer friends and colleagues a lift to work in exchange for charitable donations to Children In Need.

  A trio of Mercedes-Benz Pagoda s lead the line for Anglia Car Auctions' upcoming sale at King's Lynn on 9 November. The 230SL was once owned by BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, while an ex-New Zealand 190SL (below) will prove that Pagodas won't have it all their own way. Chris Evans sold the 230SL in 2001, and since then the car has been under the care of one of the UK’s leading Pagoda specialists.

  Silverstone's CarFest auctions make more than a million 30 Aug 2013 (News)
  CarFest creator, Chris Evans, took to the stage alongside blues musician Seasick Steve to auction a number of lots, such as hill rides, in a number of cars during the festival and a visit to the DJ’s BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show. Other on-stage appearances included the staff of CamperKing, who worked tirelessly to convert a VW Camper Van on-site during the show. The van, which was originally bought by Silverstone Auctions for £9000, sold after the conversion for £23,575, contributing £13,000 towards the charity total.
