• Vauxhall Corsa C - Fan constantly on 10 Nov 2010 (Forum)
  My fan is constantly on at the moment. I can be running the car for a few seconds and switch the engine off and my fan is still on. Ive checked my radiator and its water level is fine. Anyone have any ideas?

  Engine running badly, probably misfiring on No.3 , cat smelling like eggs!  Changed the plugs, all the old plugs were brown not sooty, is there any way of checking the HT coils without diagnostics?

    Given that i don't suffer from hay fever ,or any other condition that neccessitates a pollen filter,can i save the expense and hassle of changing it.Would not changing it impinge on the running of the car in any way?

  book says gear box holds 1.75 liters of oil. so far I have put in 2.00 liters and still not    running out of filler hole

  My engine management light has just come on but the car is running ok, there was a slight judder before it came on, can anyone tell me what this could be.

  Does anyone have any homebrew type screenwash mix ups, which would be suitable for the present cold snap. As well as the cost some retailers seem to be running low and i had to try two fillings stations and a supermarket to stock up this evening.

  You see lots of older cars running around and in good condition. makes me think that many people are keeping theirs for years. My longest was a Volvo 240 estate at 5 years, whats yours?

  Whilst sitting in the car waiting for the wife I was playing with the steering and suddenly noticed the power steering was working without the engine running. I assume this means it has electric power steering, either that or the steering is very light anyway. Any ideas?

  Hi Has any one else seen this? All instruments except rev counter stop working but car continues running ok. Stopping and restarting the car brings all systems back if only for a short time. This is on a 2002 Mondeo TDi. Brian

  My windscreen wiper intermittant wipe has stopped working. It now runs continually and does not park and i have to select the stopping position manually with the stalk. both speed are working but they will not park. cheers for any advice. wheeltrims

  1995/6 Golf Gti 111,000 miles Keeps threatening to cut out at the start of every journey. Rather than letting it run for a few minutes before setting off, is there any way to make the Golf more reliable ?

  Vauxhall astra 1998, 60,000m, intermitent stalling at junctions, on slowing when foot off gas. etc. Otherwise runs fine. Tickover at about 850rpm. been serviced and nothing detected by plug in fault reader. any thoughts as to where to start? Many thanks.

  Has anyone any thoughts on a 1.6 Mazda MX5 which occasionally misfires when restarted from hot and will not clear until a few miles have passed and then runs normally. It is fine from cold. I imagine it will have cooked the "cat". Thanks David

  Theabove generally has been a good starter but on ocassions it turns over but will not start Its had the following repairs new distributer cap,relay immobiliser bypassed but each time runs a few days then the problem reoccurs Any ideas Mike

  Advert in yesterday's Sund.Tel. offering Skoda Octavia 180 bhp for £15k and 0% finance over 3 yrs. Have read HJ's C by C brkdown and wonder if this is a good deal. Are they running the model out ? Can I get a discount somewhere ? Are they worth the money ?

  considering buying one of these from an import supermarket - HJ highlights a fairly low rating on customer survey for reliability. Any good or bad experiences out there ? has the 1.6 got enough poke for day to day running around or will my wife be better with a 1.8 ?
