• Discovery on LPG 30 Aug 2005 (Forum)
  I'm toying with the idea of buying a 5 yr old 70k Disco, 4.0l with LPG conversion. Anyone got any sound pointers/advice on such a vehicle? Any comments on general reliability and running costs would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers Mike

  my check engine lamp has come on and stays on although car is running fine,can anyone give me clue what that might be and at what cost.Car has done 31000mls and been serviced regularly,Thanks. Chas

  The car is jerky when accellerating this is mild in the low gears and speed but when running at say 60 in 5th it is excessive In the last year the turbo has had a full recon and the pump timing has been checked

  On taking a detour through the Cambridgeshire 'new village' of Cambourne, I was surprised to see several 19mph limits in operation. Is this some legal quirk, or had the signwriters simply run out of zeros....

  I have recently bought a Mk2 jaguar. Went to insure it and pleasently supprised to find it only cost me £90.This makes running an old classic all the more enjoyable.I suppose i will be paying for it with the fuel though. Roll on the summer. Dave.

  Does using the air con/climate control make a lot of difference to the MPG in a modern car? Also, should a brand new car be 'run-in' for say 1000 miles before trying to accurately assess the MPG? Thanks.

  Elsewhere, HJ has said that aircon systems should be run constantly to keep them in good nick. Does anyone know of a website where their effect on fuel consumption can be checked, or have any personal knowledge on the subject?

  The air con compressor on my 1996 Xantia 1.9td does not run when I press the switch. Is there a relay associated with it that can be replaced? Are there any servicable parts on the compressor that can be tested or replaced. Thanks

  my ford fiesta is not good. it generally starts and runs but dies when i approach a junction in first or second gear. it does restart but is a tad dangerous. any help appreciated ta

  runs ok up to 40 mph. go over that and it starts to miss and cuts out but not ever time.any one, any clues please. plugs are new and two coils and two leads seem ok.
