    Next June's supercharged MINI Cooper S will have 163bhp, not 155bhp as originally thought. Together with a six-speed gearbox, this will be enough to get it from zero to sixty in around seven seconds and on to a top speed of 135mph.

    The first production Mini Minor will be one of 90 special British cars to feature in the Queen’s 90 th birthday parade on Saturday, 15 October.     Featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, dedicated computer study areas and a fully-equipped workshop, the training school represents BMW Group's continued investment into apprenticeships and training in the UK.     A 1969 Mini raised just shy of £13,000 for charity when it sold at auction over the weekend. The car, which had been restored by the MG Owners Club, was sold at the Silverstone Auctions sale on Saturday, 12 November, at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show with funds going to Prostate Cancer UK.
  • British Motor Heritage to offer Mk1 Mini bodyshells 13 Feb 2017 (News)
    British Motor Heritage is to build replacement bodyshells for Mk1 Minis. The first production run of 15 bodies will start in April with deliveries expected in May.     Obviously not previously owned by any Tom, Dick or Harry, this 'garage found' 1965 Austin Mini Cooper Radford was once the property of Beatles manager Brian Epstein.  The car may be the only unrestored example with Beatles connections. After Epstein’s ownership, the Mini passed on to George Harrison’s brother, Peter Harrison, who kept it until December 1971, suggesting that the Beatles probably came into contact with the car.

    Aston Martin Heritage dealer Nicholas Mee is now selling a fully functional petrol-powered mini Aston Martin model, suitable for anyone aged 10 and up – it’ll even fit an adult. Priced from £16,5000, the shrunken replica of a 1960s DB, which is two-and-a-half metres long, is powered by a 110cc petrol engine linked to a three-speed semi-automatic transmission.  It’s not just a toy – top speed is 46mph and everything works, from the headlights and indicators to the electric starter and the horn.
