Going electric? 29 Mar 2022 (Forum)
The only sensible way to run them or most pricey new cars at the moment is via a contract lease as the leasing firms get huge discounts on the cars from the manufacturers. It typically costs £60/£70 a month less than a PCP and ends in exactly the same way with you handing the car back at the end with no money left in it. -

Which Option? 5 Mar 2003 (Forum)
We use people totally independent to us who themselves have exemplary reputations. We are the only car dealers they have come across who spend the necessary amount on car services and repairs - their words not ours. -

USA observations and rip off Britain 31 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Yet most of us over here wouldn't touch one with a barge pole. 10.Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler are doing a lifetime warranty on the powertrain of their cars there. I wonder if I walked into a British dealer and said I'd buy one as long as I got the same warranty the Americans get what response I'd get!!! -

SEAT Alhambra - sunroof exploded 23 Nov 2018 (Forum)
Both myself and my partner, to this day, still suffer anxiety when driving the car which in itself ruined our holiday as it is nerve racking getting into a car that nearly killed us, as well as having to change our plans significantly. I was advised by Seat customer services that their legal team would be writing to me, as I had been advised not to accept a goodwill gesture of a meal out, due to the injuries, both psychological and physical, the severe inconvenience caused and extra expenses incurred. -

Golf GTD - Buying a Golf GTD 31 Aug 2019 (Forum)
After hashing out a deal with a big-name dealer, I’m financing the car at £250 a month, which includes 2 year Warranty, Servicing, MOT and Paint/Cloth protection. Perfect for my budget. After putting down a reservation deposit, the dealer rings to say there’s a couple things that need fixing on the car (a scratch on the bumper and new plates needed) and it’ll be with me. -
Ford B Max. - Well...I went and did it. 2 Aug 2017 (Forum)
I suppose I could try to see this as a project, though hopefully not an expensive and depressing one. Ford extended the warranty to five years on the gearbox, so we have a year of ownership before the cost of fixing any potential problems become solely our responsibility. And for what its worth, the indy dealer who sold the car to me has given 12 months parts and labour warranty, which along with his good reputation and 30 odd years in the business does give me some peace of mind. -

I need a new medium family car 13 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I hate buying cars, but the 13yo Rover 216 I'm driving at the moment is on its last legs so I've got to bite the bullet. Some additional boot space over the Rover would be useful, but there's only a small space on the drive, so a large family car won't fit, so a Focus/Golf, etc it is . -

Audi A1 - Buying Audi A1 from an AUDI dealer 29 Dec 2013 (Forum)
Hi, I`ve gone and put down a deposit on an AUDI A1 2011 (Audi APPROVED) at an AUDi dealership. It`s MOT`d until march and has 1 years Audi warranty. I probably haven`t haggled the BEST deal but at £11,400 it seems ok. I only used my debit card to put down the £400, I didn`t sign anything. Over the weekend I suddenly realised I probably should have got the car inspected by a third party ? -
