  • Proposed 20mph urban speed limit 20 Oct 2007 (Forum)
I heard a report on radio 4 this morning of a proposal to reduce the current 30mph urban speed limit to 20mph. I think there is a case for 20mph on busy shopping high streets and urban housing estate roads. However a reduction to 20mph at all times on urban through routes is taking it too far.
  • diesel hike and vegetable oil 2 Oct 2007 (Forum)
With the increase in fuel costs and having listened to the radio this morning I have decided that it could be time time to start using vegetable oil, on a 50/50 basis sort of fill up drive a couple of 100 miles add vegetable oil,and vary it. Any considerations on using it with a 2.2 dc renault espace, suitability and whether it's a good idea or not.

  • Fitting Keyless entry? 9 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Has anyone ever fitted something like this:- http://tinyurl.com/yhmw6m And if yes how easy are they to fit? I am quite competent as far as electrical matters go, i.e am quite happy to fit a car radio by wiring directly into loom rather then using harness adapters etc. Just thinking about getting something like this fitted to my accord.

I heard on the radio today that when swedish cars are three years old they have an MOT test which is so strict that it demands that the cars entire braking system is replaced. It was claimed that lots of cars are scrapped early in their life and replaced with a new one, has anyone ony knowledge of this ?
  • Praise for a Renault Scenic. 25 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Shattered a few illusions, Strong 1.9 diesel, smooth and quiet thing linked to a very nice 6 speed box, nice electronic hand-brake. Seemingly as well made, good radio but a blinking fustrating heated rear window - the timer interval is unreal. Yes, I could buy one if I was in the market.
  • Renault Clio - Dashboard Display 21 Aug 2005 (Forum)
The centre dashboard display (LED?) on our Renault Clio has dimmed - the digits (time, temperature, radio station etc) can still be seen but the display is not lit and as fully visible as before. The vehicle is not fitted with a dashboard dimmer switch. Is there an LED or bulb I can replace? What else could have caused this effect?

  • Car supermarkets 15 Sep 2003 (Forum)
However, I notice in the small print that as the cars are imports, they are not necessarily to UK specification. Apart from the obvious differences there might be such as radio spec etc what other differences could there be? For example, is rustproofing likely to be to the same standard? Also, what disadvantages are there of buying from a car supermarket - what about warranty work?
  • in car minidisc players. 21 Jan 2002 (Forum)
p.s the reason i am selling it is because its too powerful for the car (the doors start to shake when the radios on)
