Ford Mondeo TDDi Drive Shaft 30 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Now, I am driving temporarily with the old driveshaft and at 110-140 kpmh, my steering wheel shakes a little. I have brought my mondeo for wheel alignment and balancing but to no avail. Is it due to the driveshaft that I suspect? -
VW Golf - Fitting new timing belt. 14 Oct 2003 (Forum)
With regard to fitting a new timing belt, I will probably have to remove the crankshaft pulley/sprocket. After I have turned the engine to get the TDC marks aligned I will then have to remove the crankshaft pulley/sprocket bolt. Will selecting a gear be enough to hold the crankshaft in place so that I can remove this crankshaft pulley/sprocket bolt? Any suggestions will be welcome. -
Tyres and pulling to one side 4 Jan 2002 (Forum)
My car was pulling to the left and the tyres had worn on the inside edges. I decided to have the wheel alignment checked and adjusted (properly mind, with a £20,000 machine not the normal simple equipment) I found that the car handled better but still pulled to the left. I have just bought two new tyres and the car no longer pulls to one side at all. -
Skoda Octavia Estate 2012 - Front coil spring. 24 Mar 2023 (Forum)
The next day I noticed a knocking noise when turn the steering wheel. Does the spring need time to settle? It looks to be aligned, but I am no mechanic. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. -
Mitsubishi Shogun (2000) - MoT Advisory - wear on inside of all four tyres 24 Jul 2012 (Forum)
On the current MoT is an advisory re all four tyres showing wear on the inside. Should I be alarmed by this ? Does it just mean the wheels need re aligning or could it indicate something more serious and costly ? Please help before I part with my cash. -
Nissan Almera Tino 1.8 SE+ 2001 - Accelerator Stcking 17 Aug 2010 (Forum)
After stopping, (Pulling up in a queue or junction etc), the accelerator pedal sticks and requires an amount of pressure to free-up, resulting in an awful lot of rev's as i pull away. I have checked the cable path, alignment of the pedal to the cable, the rotation and freeness of the pulley at the 'Carb'. And have greased all these points... They all seem free moving. It is annoying and possibly dangerous when on a hill, or creeping along in a queue.. -
Mazda Mazda 2 (2003 - 2007) - 2007 1.4 Changing headlight bulbs 7 Dec 2008 (Forum)
There appears to be one screw and one bolt retaining the headlight cluster, which if removed would allow the cluster to come forwards and give more room to remove the bulbs. Does anyone know whether doing this will change the alignment of the headlights? -
Scenic II tyre wear 18 Oct 2006 (Forum)
When washing it today, noticed that the outside edges of both front tyres is badly worn but the rest of the tread is fine. Is this a simple alignment problem or something more serious? I had the car into the garage a few weeks ago as there was a slight clunking noise coming from the steering when it passed through the straight ahead position. -
creaky micra 13 Apr 2006 (Forum)
It stopped doing this for about a month, so i thought it had fixed itself but it has since returned. took it down to the nissan dealer and they thought it was caused by mis-aligned panels. before they start messing about trying to find which panels might be causing it, i was hoping someone could tell me if it is reasonable that this could be the problem or might have any other suggestions? -
Speeding (mostly excl cameras) Vol 33 18 Oct 2005 (Forum)
You get more of a shock and the springs suffer more, but you are less likely to cause tyre or steering alignment damage. People who install these humps should be made liable for consequential damage. I am thinking about starting CASH (Campaign Against Speed Humps)." Hope you're serious, HJ. If you are, I'll sign up right away. -
tyre wear Audi A6 18 Aug 2004 (Forum)
they are both new tyres - i replaced them thinking that the previous owner must have liked going round corners fast but after 1000 miles the problem is coming back. would this be a suspension problem or tracking? anyone have any ideas? ive got it booked in for a 4-wheel alignment tomorrow - but am unsure this would solve it. the guy in the garage didnt really no what was causing it thanks dave -

RapidFit 13 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Just got back from the Jennings Ford Rapid Fit at Durham. I went there to get a long running problem with my off-centre steering wheel fixed. They re-aligned the front wheels and have fixed my steering! :) :) :) What did they charge?............. Nothing! I asked how much and he said don't worry just take the car away! :) Fantastic service from really helpful staff and I would recommend them to anyone in the area. -

chevrolet cruze - Car pulling to the left.... not able to find fault 14 Jan 2016 (Forum)
after driving on the tyres for 20,000+ miles they had very uneven wear... we have even tried aligning it so the steer ahead is to the right... so when i hold the steering wheel centred the car will drive right to try and counter the pull.... but this only works when on a completly flat surface... and even then i can still feel my steering wheel pulling through my hands to the left.... -
VW Golf mk VI 1.6TDi (Oct 2009) - 60K service done - but expensive 3 Apr 2012 (Forum)
New Air filer 3. New Oil Filter 4. Oil change 5. Electric diagnostic 6. Wheel alignment 7. Two new front tyres Now, it turns out the front tyres had worn out as a result of tow-out camber. I saw them - they were indeed almost bald along one side. It was a high mileage car when we bought it used at just one year old. -
Ford Fiesta 1996 1.25 - Tracking way out after suspension arm change 3 Sep 2010 (Forum)
I'd since noticed that the steering wheel was no longer straight ahead, not far off but decided to have it tracked. The fast fit centre found that the wheel alignement was so far out it was off their guage and did not want to touch it. Looking at the car now it appears toed out. Their only comment was that there are two different suspension arms for that car, presumably one for the PAS model and one for the non PAS model, which is mine. -

Honda AccordCRV (2014) - Headlight adjustment 30 Mar 2015 (Forum)
I frequently drive in France and am often "flashed" by drivers of on-coming vehicles when they encounter my dipped headlight. I advised th main dealer of this and asked them to check the alignment. They said they are set correctly. Should the hi-power self leveling lights be set "level", as opposed to nearside being set high as with traditional headlights? -
Ford Focus - Ford Focus chrome trim 23 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Can someone explain why Ford cannot align the chrome trim on its current crop of cars, virtually every Focus I've viewed with the intention of buying is misaligned (trim between the door body and glass) it is almost like being transported back in time to the 1970s.
