  • Fuel Prices 4 May 2005 (Forum)
(NOT A PROTEST THREAD!) I'm curious as to what those more in the know when it comes to motoring think will happen to fuel prices - they can't keep rising, surely? (Not until we really are starting to run out of oil anyway).
  • Fuels 23 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Are the new range of Ultimate and Optimax unleaded fuels safe to use on ALL vehicles (obviously apart from those that require diesel or leaded!)? If so, do they deliver the additional efficiency and performance that they promise and are they worth the extra pennies on the litre?

  • Shell V-Power NITRO+ premium 7 Jun 2015 (Forum)
This innovation enables inclusion of a new, breakthrough component designed to help prevent wear in critical engine parts. The new premium fuel also helps protect critical fuel system components from corrosion, destroys gunk left behind by lower quality premium gasoline; it then acts like a barrier to protect against gunk, wear and corrosion.

  • Nissan Micra (1992 - 2003) - 93 998 Fuel problem 5 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Engine will start .If I soak the air filter in petrol it starts but only for a few secs. I guess engine is not getting fuel from the pump. The starter spinns the engine quite easily as if no petrol in the cylinders. Where is the fuel pump so that I can check? Any other checks you can suggest. Is the pump not running because of a sensor somewhere?

Hi - had the fuel tank filler neck flexi hose replaced recently ( leaking fuel was the tell tale sign of it's demise ! ) but have experienced very poor fuel economy since then. I realise that it could be coincidental, but do you know of any problems with this replacement part, e.g. is there a filter or such like attached to it which could have been missed by the mechanic !?
