Jaguar launches Mini Miglia in Scotland 8 May 2015 (News)
Jaguar has launched its inaugural Mini Miglia road rally in Scotland as part of its preparations to tackle the Mille Miglia on 14-17 May. Taking in a 100-mile route along the scenic west coast of Scotland, the first Mini Miglia was used as a shakedown for the cars and drivers competing in the full-blown Italian event. -
NEC Classic: Mini wins Car of The Year 17 Nov 2013 (News)
Jason Field has won this year's Classic car of The Year at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor show at the NEC in Birmingham. The 1960 Morris Mini-Minor was built in Jason's home town of Oxford at the iconic Cowley Morris works and is one of several classic Minis owned by himself and his wife Tanya. The Mini saw off competition from a Jowett Javelin, a Hillman Imp, a pre-war Morris Minor and a Sunbeam Alpine. -

MINI celebrates a century of car production in Oxford 19 Dec 2012 (News)
Cars built at Cowley have been a diverse bunch - with marques including Austin-Healey, MG, Wolseley, Riley, Austin, Mini, Vanden Plas, Princess, Triumph, Rover, Honda, and Sterling. Morris is the most associated with Cowley, but more MInis (classic and post-BMW) have been built at the factory. The current factory is actually based in the body assembly plant founded by Pressed Steel, with the original Morris buildings being demolished during the late 1980s and early '90s. -
BMW unveils electric version of classic Mini 28 Mar 2018 (News)
A Mini spokesman said, ‘The electric classic remains true to the brand, both in terms of its visual appearance and driving characteristics. ‘The spontaneous power of its electric motor provides a new dimension to the unmistakable go-kart feeling that helped propel the British small car in its original form to worldwide popularity.’ Finished in red with a white roof, the car carries the yellow Mini Electric logo in the brand emblem and on its hub caps. -

Two men jailed over classic Mini thefts 13 Apr 2016 (News)
Two men who stole classic Minis and then sold the parts on eBay have been jailed for a total of six-and-a-half years. Stephen Fiddimore and Sam Metten were caught after police raided six addresses in Kent and found 13 classic Minis. -
Police hunt stolen Mini 18 Sep 2014 (News)
Police are appealing for information after a classic Mini was stolen in Dartford, Kent. The car, which is white and registered C862 CTM, was stolen from St Vincents Road between 6pm on 30 August and 1pm on 31 August. It was not driveable so police believe a low-loader was used to move the car. -

302-mile Mini van set to make £25k at auction 13 Mar 2015 (News)
A 1968 Austin Mini Van that has remained virtually unused for 47 years could make up to £25,000 when it goes under the hammer later this month. Bought for £400 by a Miss G Crumcott from Northern Ireland so that she could learn to drive, Miss Crumcott never passed her test and so the Mini was left in a garage for 30 years. -
New show for Mini and Metro fans 21 Apr 2016 (News)
A new show has been launched for fans of both old and new Minis and Metros. The National Metro and Mini show will be held at the British Motor Museum on Sunday, 5 June. Highlights will include a car gymkhana, a concours, a non-cours (with classes such as best non-functioning accessory, biggest rust patch, and worst interior), a 20th anniversary display for the Cooper 35LE, a friends and relations display and much more. -

Paddy Hopkirk to drive at the Festival of Speed 22 Jan 2014 (News)
The 50th anniversary of the Mini-Cooper's first of three victories on the Monte Carlo Rally will celebrated at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed on 27-29 June. Paddy Hopkirk will drive a Mini Cooper S up the Goodwood hill, evoking memories of his heroic performance on the mountain stages of Southern France in 1964.
