Overall reliability

Excellent city car, good fuel consumption.

Loveable cute car. Handles well, great turning circle, 56 miles to the gallon petrol engine; up to 64 on motorways at a steady 55 - 65, 45 - 50 mpg away from motorways and A roads. Comfortable seats good driving position. Controls well placed. Climate control versatile and user friendly. Automatic gearbox not particularly smooth and slightly lacking in immediate accerlaration on motorways when overtaking. Storage space poor: very little in cabin and only an acceptable amount behind the seats; will hold a set of golf clubs, or a full household food shop, or two weekend suit cases.

Overall my experience of Smart cars is one either loves them or doesn't. We also have a 2005 Smart and the latest model is much more solid and well-made. They are slightly over-priced and still need work to improve them. However, I can't imagine life without one.
