Comfortable and cheap to run

I've owned my Ibiza SC for 3 years. I bought it from a dealer and have had absolutely flawless service from them, with a reasonably priced service plan and extended warranty.

As for the car itself, the engine has to be worked hard to get any sort of performance from it, but around town it will average 40 MPG easily. That isn't actually particularly good for a 3 cylinder engine but is by no means disastrous either. A down change or two is often necessary in the 50-70 acceleration range on a motorway depending on how heavy-laden the car is.

The boot is absolutely enormous for the size of car, but the rear seats are awful to get in and out of as the front seats don't slide forwards when trying to get in and out of the back. Folding the rear seats is also a nightmare due to the sloping roof preventing the removal of the headrests - the bases and backs also fold separately making it challenging to put them down.

The interior isn't particularly high quality and the handles on the seats have a habit of falling off, but the rest of the plastics - whilst cheap - feel well put together. I have often found though that there is a great deal of road noise - regardless of tyre quality - at anything above 50 MPH.

On the whole I'd recommend the car but with a different engine.
