Brilliant long distance car, but deeply average to drive

I ran one of these as a company car for three years. In that time it was utterly reliable, superbly comfortable and effortless to live with day to day.

Pros:
- 1.9 diesel 'lump' is superbly strong and pulls the car along nicely. Another 30bhp would have been ideal though
- High clutch biting point and easy gear throw made for effortless driving
- Satnav was a TomTom and worked well
- Ride very comfortable

Cons:
- Dullest vehicle to drive, with such over-assisted steering as to lose all feeling of the road
- Never quite broke the 50mpg average, though it effortlessly averaged 49mpg
- Not much room in the rear
- Dull styling and many hard, grey plastics
- TomTom would randomly decide there was a totally unrelated speed limit (like 51) and beeped incessantly at you for a few miles

In summary, good for what it was purchased to do, but no driver's car. Competent but dull.
