Good design spoiled by servicing costs and poor reliability
After two years I have finally sold this car for £16,750, making a total loss of £16,000 after discount for two years of comfortable but troublesome motoring. The DS required servicing on everage every 6,500 miles due to excessive diesel dilution. A tank of DEF lasted about 5,000 miles, both well short of expectations. Fuel consumption averaged 38 mpg using normal diesel. I experienced numerous problems included rear disc corrosion, replacement of the DPF at 14,000 miles and a leaking rear tailgate though I did not experience the dreaded B-pillar rattle.
After 30 years of driving Ford, BMW and Mercedes vehicles this was my first experience of Land Rover. I am fairly certain that it will also be my last.
