An upgrade from my Sportage in every way

A change of geography meant the harsh ride on our 2016 4 trim Sportage was too much. Thin (45mm) tyre walls and the stiff set up for a sporty ride are ok on our original motorway commutes but now we are exclusively trunk and side roads we need more rubber and softer set up
I'd hankered to return to automatic transmission after a succession of auto cars in the 90's and 2000's and the grandkids are getting older, so knowing Kia's excellent build quality (65000 miles on our 5 year old Sporty with no rattles or any other issues) we decided to test drive a KX4 Sorento.
Wow, a lovely ride quality and such a smooth auto box. We float along and are happy to leave the "Spirited B road driving" to others whilst we enjoy an almost silent ride - the sound deadening in this Sorento is so good.
A lot of quality, well specced car for my hard earned money. Sure, fuel economy is a big difference at low 30's compared to the mid 40's I was getting from my manual 1.7crdi and the VED with the extra hit of the +40k list price adds to our outlay, but any premium used German offerings which we also looked at would be the same.
Although my last two Kias (we also had a 2014 Sportage) were bought new the Sorento would be out of my pocket, so to enjoy a 3 year old ex-leased one with only 25000 miles on it for basically half price more than makes up for the higher running costs as previously mentioned.
