Why are we such snobs?

I am 49 and, being an i****, have had 51 cars in my lifetime. I have just got rid of my second BMW - a 320d manual estate. It was fine but every German car I have owned I've felt strangely disconnected from. The controls are weighty, the cabin insulated and the drive is quiet...and yet I feel like a passenger whilst driving. The press - and the advertising - tell me the complete opposite. And yet, after all these cars, I absolutely love my Tipo estate. I feel like I did when I first drove - connected . It is not noisy, though. It drives with 'verve' and is well built. The plastics are shiny and black but they're robust. The best bit is the engine - a good old fashioned port injection one that won't be full of crusty oil by the time it's done 50k miles. It's a dying breed. I'm glad I bought it and I hope it cures me of my stupid tendency to change cars. I doubt it but so far so good. Buy one....
