406-mile electric Mercedes GLC prices from £60,350
- All-new all-electric SUV
- Battery range of up to 406 miles
- 330kW charging promises 188 miles in 10 minutes
- Prices start at £60,350
Mercedes-Benz has pulled back the covers of the all-new, all-electric GLC (well, officially the GLC with EQ Technology). Available at launch in Mercedes GLC 400 4Matic form, it promises to combine strong performance and fast charging with increased practicality over the outgoing, combustion-powered model.
Deliveries of the new car will start in the UK during the first half of 2026 with prices starting at around the £60,000 mark for the GLC 400 4MATIC, which is the first model on sale, with a battery range of up to 406 miles. That's some way below Mercedes' expected range of 443 miles – publicised before the car was independently tested – but it's still an impressive distance on a single charge. Fast 330kW charging capability should be able to add 188 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
However, the new Mercedes GLC faces stiff competition from the new BMW iX3, which would seem to have the edge over the Mercedes when it comes to range and charging speed. Other rivals will include the Audi Q4 e-tron and the Tesla Model Y.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC prices and release date

The first model on sale will be the Mercedes GLC 400 4Matic, which will arrive on our shores in 2026. It starts at £60,350 for the Sport trim, with four other trims available, too. The AMG Line trim costs from £63,350 while the Premium model is £68,350. Premium Plus costs from £70,850 and the top-spec Premier Edition is £73,350.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC styling, interior and technology

We wouldn’t blame you for blinking at the shots of the all-new Mercedes GLC, as it looks very similar to the existing petrol- and diesel-powered Mercedes GLC.
Mercedes has opted firmly for evolution over revolution when it comes to the exterior design, although it has an eye-catching new grille that’s larger and more vertical than on previous electric Mercs. It’s also (optionally) illuminated with hundreds of tiny LEDs that can animate or show simple pixel-style graphics.

Inside, the car has been designed to feel more spacious and modern than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase contributing to more interior space. The highlight is not just a screen, but an MBUX Hyperscreen – a massive 39.1-inch display that stretches the full width of the dashboard and combines the driver display, central infotainment screen and passenger into one.
A panoramic sunroof is included as standard, or you can opt for an entire glass roof with what Mercedes calls Sky Control, which switches the glass between transparent and opaque. At night, it can be lit with 162 tiny stars.
You can also spec the Mercedes GLC with a Vegan Package, which uses alternative soft-touch materials and upholstery and is the first car from a mainstream manufacturer to have a fully vegan interior, as certified by The Vegan Society.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC electric motor, battery and range

At launch, the new Mercedes GLC comes in 400 4Matic, which is likely to be near the top of the range once other models are released.
It has two electric motors delivering 483PS and 810Nm to all four wheels, giving it a very pacey 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds. The battery is 94kWh (usable) in size, and is built on an 800-volt system for fast charging at up to 330kW.
That means that, with a suitable charger, you can recoup up to 188 miles of range in 10 minutes, while a 10%-80% charge takes about 24 minutes. Mercedes quotes a range of up to 406 miles on a full charge.

How big is the new Mercedes-Benz GLC?
The new Mercedes GLC measures 4845mm in length and is 1913mm wide, with a height of 1644mm and a 2972mm wheelbase. That’s a size increase over the outgoing GLC (4722x1890mm) and also larger in all dimensions than the new BMW iX3.
What is Mercedes Sensual Purity?
You might see a few references to Sensual Purity if you’re pursuing literature about the GLC. It refers to the car’s design philosophy, and translates to elegant, flowing lines and a sense of modern simplicity over fussy details. Inside, it means a minimalist but premium cabin, giving occupants a sense of refinement and warmth.
What is the boot size of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC?
The new GLC’s boot is large, measuring 570 litres in capacity (50 litres more than BMW’s new iX3) and expands to 1740 litres if you fold down the back seats, which fold in a 40:20:40 split. There’s also a sizable 128-litre frunk space under the bonnet.
